hellow everyone in cruiser land ... i have a question i just redid my front axle seals and bearings on my fj60 while i was at it i changed my tre's rotors steering stblz. and caipers and they is where my problem lies i upgraded to 92 4runner 4x4 calipers and my old master cylinder doesnt seem to be up to the task of pushing the extra volume required 4 the larger calipers .... so can anyone recomend a toyota bmc that will bolt right on .. thx

When I put a new one in my 60, I got one from man-a-freaks and it came with a larger fuild res. You could try and talk to those guys...but I was happy to see it after i opened the box.

bmc

thx bro but id rather deal with the guys at autozone for this part free shipping plus lifetme guarantee etc. so i heared a 93 fzj80 non abs bmc should work? oh thx for the invite cant wait to make it up someday never been offroad oron any trails for that matter!

no prob....i think it was an fzj80 one that came.(from man-a-fre)

AUto zone stuff is crap. A lifetime warrenty wont help you when it is broken down on the trail. Buy OEM or NAPA.

I totally agree, especially on their master cylinders.

What you want is a MC for a V6 mini-truck ('88+). They are 1" bore and move more fluid.

your probably wright man the 4runner calipers i got from them were crap they leaked right after i bolted them on (it should of been a learning lesson) iguess the dealer would be the best bet ,,i do get 20%off

Generally agree, but I tend to take into account the manufacter of the product.

would those mc bolt on with no mods

I believe you need to change the length of brake booster rod and the pedal might be a harder push because of the bigger bore.
Can somebody verify that?

.

Auto Zone and the assorted other auto crap vendors buy special made parts from the larger manafactures just like Home deopt buys a crap line of DeWalt just for the depot. The name on the box means lttle

Generally true.
But what I'm saying is that some items fall through the cracks.

For example, since we're on the subject of brake hydraulics.
Napa and PartsAmerica (Kragen/Shucks/etc.) share an identical clutch slave cylinder. Right down to the part number. However, this isn't true for the brake mc.

OTOH, you mentioned DeWalt and Home D crap. Hell, it doesn't even matter what it says on the box. Take a look at this.

And now these.

Rebadging is nothing new. But selling one product at a price so much higher than another for the same item, burns me.

.

My rule for hydraulic parts is no aftermarket unless it is OE branded. i.e. my independent parts house's jap hyd. parts are ASCO same mfg. as toyota but w/o the cost and I've had no problems. -some of the stuff is actually a Toyota box inside a plain box!
