There is a round piece of rubber stuck into the arm of the brake pedal. That round rubber thing is what presses against the brake light switch. The darn thing dry rotted and crumbled. Is that part available or do I need to booty-fab something?

I replaced mine about 8 months ago. It's still in the Toyota system. About $2.00. Forget the name. I just went to a Toyota dealer, had them pull up the appropriate image on their computer, and pointed to the part I wanted. They had to special order it, took about 3 days.

Mine had an indent worn into it. As a result, the plunger on the brake light switch wasn't pushed back far enough, and the brake lights stayed on, even after I'd turned off the truck.

When you re-install the new rubber thingy, make sure to re-adjust the brake pedal. The instructions are in the FSM. Might as well get it set correctly while you're messing around in that area...
