So my " BRAKE " light is constantly on.... but not at full strength. It lights up more when you pull the lever. I've adjusted the parking brake, and of course, made sure that it wasn't up... to no avail. The light is still on. All pads are good, and fluid level is good.... any thoughts?

The only two things that set it off are parking brake and/or fluid level, IIRC. I would check the continuity of those two sensors, sounds like the parking brake sensor may be suspect.

Looks like another fluid level sensor problem. They go bad where they semi short accross the switch and tunr the light on dimmly. To check just unplug the sensor at the master cylinder. If the light goes out that's your problem. You'll need a whole new cap as they don't sell just the sensor.

I had the same problem. Unplugged the brake resevoir sensor like landtank suggests and all is good.

Hmmm... are they cleanable or something?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. I tried to clean mine by blowing air around the contacts, but it did'nt work.

Ok, it's the sensor in the cap.... doesn't look serviceable...

Anybody know how much a new one is? C-dan?

I asked that and was told just disconnect........in other words it's very pricey!

Ugh... ok... thanks!

I guess I will make my grand entrance to the site on a subject where I can actually contribute or know something to contribute cause it actually happened.

I had the same problem actually when I bought the LC, took it it to the toyota dealer and had them replace the cap. It was $85 for the parts $20 for the labor (hook up the cap/sensor and clip it into place). It took all of 1 minute. I decided right then and there to start doing my own repairs.

Glad you guys are here and have learned lots from this site already, thanks.

The mechanic said with the broken sensor, the cruise control and ABS wouldn't work, the CC worked but never tried the ABS.

Nah... I already unhooked the cap... CC works, and so does ABS...

Thanks for the input though!
