Good morning! In my efforts to put my 02/1999 Elsie back on the road, I sourced a brake booster assembly to replace the bad one I took out 3-4 years ago, and even though it was for a "1999", it doesn't fit the bolt pattern on the firewall. The replacement booster has a bolt pattern of approximately 100mm wide x 70mm high. The pattern on the firewall of the LC itself is approximately 85mm x 85mm. There are two stickers on the replacement unit, but the information on one of them has totally worn off, and the other one is a bar code I haven't been able to scan.
I don't have my old one, sadly, and I need to figure out how to get the proper unit. My discussions with a good shop a few years ago led me to understand that you have to be pretty specific about build date and maybe VIN to know exactly which model booster will fit. However, in my searching, even on parts sites, they mostly only show a wide model year range, like 1999-2007 or something, which seems obviously now to be inadequate. One site did break it down for pre- and post- 07/1999 build dates, but I don't know for sure if that is detailed enough either. There is also mention of VSC or non-VSC, and frankly I'm not sure if I have that or not. Any help the hive mind can offer is most appreciated.
