Are there other options for the brake booster check valve? I get a random hard pedal and wanted to try the check valve before a booster replacement.

Unfortunately 44730-14060 seems to be discontinued. 7/‘95 US model FZJ80

I have a hard time believing there wasn’t a supersession but I haven’t been able to track it down if so.

Thanks!

That part number is listed for the 1st and 2nd generation 100 series (among other models), but not the 80 series. That doesn't mean it won't fit; I've never tried it. Interestingly, it's been used since the early '90s in the Celica and is still in use for recent CH-R models. I wonder why Toyota didn't use it for the 80s; it may have something to do with the fact that the 80 series brake boosters weren't used on any other models.

I'd email Dave Stedman at Japan4x4 and ask him if there is a supersession in Toyota's database, that isn't in the dealer EPC. Post back if you find an acceptable substitute; inquiring minds want to know.

I just replaced my check valve ('96 80) with the 44730-28010, fits great. I did end up ordering from Amayama because no one else had it in stock.

Good to know
