Has anyone installed the rear stone guards?

I have 2 plastic clips that go around the shock. Just above the bottom shock mount. They don't connect together and I couldn't get the guard to slide over these clips.

I have a hard time believing this setup is actually going to last long.

Thanks @reklund5. In the 2nd picture the yellow retaining clips barely hangs on. The directions say it is the guard itself that retains these clips. I haven't been able to slide the guard over them.

Looks to me like the narrow side of the clip should be facing up although I've tried both ways. I see the 200 Series has a guard that screws onto the shock and there's also some aftermarket metal guards because the 200 series guard has failed after each revision. I was hoping someone has seen better options for the 80 Series.

Ahh yes. Those were a bit of a bitch on mine now that I think about it.

Narrow side does go up, and they form a circle around the shock in that groove. The stone shield slides down and clips on to that. I found a shot of silicone spray on the yellow part and a little heat from a heat gun to warm up the stone shield made things much easier.
