Well, since I am putting in a new head-gasket and my Y-pipe is cracked I dropped $800 on an OEM lifetime warranty Bosal exhaust from the manifold to the tailpipe. Even though I tow and go into the woods, the worst thing I do to the LC is commute 2 miles to work.

Here are some photos with the original system. The Bosal is OEM and not their mandrel bent high performance line.

So that 800 includes both cats and muffler and everything? Is that shipped?

What does the lifetime warranty actually stand for.
They replace the exhaust when you detect a "hole in the bucket"??
Never heard of that one before??

Lifetime Guarentee

I had a Bosal Lifetime cat back on my Acura. The muffler would get a hole about the size of your fist about every year. I don't think the moisture got burned out and it was only driven on short trips to work. I would remove the muffler section and bring it to the local Bosal supplier along with my receipt, and they would give me another. I did the install myself.

The $800 covers everything shown: front pipe w/cat, rear cat, muffler and tail section with resonator. What is not included is the 2 O2 sensors. There was no delivery because I live 3 city blocks from the parts store and my LC is waiting for EGR gaskets which do not come with a Toyota upper end gasket kit (I should have contacted Cruiser Dan!). Also the $800 included the fact that my son went to school with the parts store owner.

The warranty is as stated on the web site I linked earlier in the post. I did not discuss the warranty when I bought the parts, but I knew of the Bosal "Million Mile" lifetime warranty.

I had a Subaru for 15 years and went through about 4 mufflers and 2 sets of cats in about 135K if you include the factory parts. Same with a Jeep Cherokee. I scanned the receipts into my PC so I could fax them when needed and Arvin/Maremont would even ship the parts to my house after a few years because the store I bought the originals from closed.

40thEd, Any hints on the pricing? Looking at the website it is over $1000 just for the 2 cats!! Granted, the front cat includes from the headers to the 1st cat but, !#@*, that is expensive.

So, what parts chain carries Bosal? It looks like good fitting stuff. How about a picture of it all installed when you're done?
