About 5 years ago I installed a borla cat back on my '94. I've loved it but the rearmost hanger fell off and left a hole in the exahsut pipe slightly larger than a vending machine coin slot where the bracket was...Of course I can't find my receipt and was wondering if anyone has any experience or reccomendations for getting it fixed under Borla's "lifetime blah blah"

My soup can patch with high temp rtv works but I'm looking for a longer term solution....I have 57 days as I fialed MA inspection - the Toy. dealer removed my clamps and patch...

Any thoughts? "shoulda kept the receipt" responses accepted but not as happily as something that shows alittle more creativity or assistance...

edit - I did a search of several pages but came up empty....

Don't sweat it....Borla has a "million mile warranty" My bracket broke at the tailpipe. They sent me an entire new pipe. The "catch" is, YOU have to pay for shipping your Borla back to them...about 50.00 bucks. I think I sent them an e-mail pic to show them what broke. Find out who your Rep is in your area...then call him direct....no receipt needed.

I had my borla replaced with the warranty. A couple of the mounting brackets had broken off. As stated above, I had to ship the old one back to them, which was about 50 bucks. No big deal in my opinion. the way it works is you basically buy a new exhaust from them and have it sent to you. pack up your old exhaust in the box your new one came in and send the old one back. When they receive your old exhaust, they credit your credit card. The hardest part was getting my old exhuast to fit in the box. I recommend you note how they have it packed up when you receive it.

I contacted this guy at Borla: Harley Boye (thats his real name), 1-877 -GO-BORLA Ext 247, harleyb@borla.com. He was very helpful in getting me hooked up with the replacement exhaust. He did want a receipt from me, which I didnt have. I contacted the parts store where I originally bought the exhaust, and they were able to send me a receipt.

ditto on the wire for mine...I'd bet you'll soon discover a hole develops where the hanger was weldied to the pipe....

edit: the original hanger - not the clothes hanger..

If things don't work out with a replacement, I'll be happy to repair that for you... weld a nice square of 14 gauge stainless over the hole and then weld the hanger to it. That should get rid of the problem.

F Borla, these exhaust suck. I got a replacement and the hangers were just as bad as the original one and they screwed up the O2 bung so I couldn't install the sensor.

I'll be by sometime Brian for you to repair both my hangers.

Thanks for the info and offers! I'm curious to see how it plays....Harley was very friendly on the phone but seems so far to be impotent without a receipt....Even if I had the receipt I suspect I would get "sorry no longer made" BS but we'll see....rummaged throgh credit card receipts and I think I found the purchase....7/03......Million miles:rolleyes:

update - do not take a job as a customer rep. for Borla - Harley sounds like he's up to his ass in alligators. I'm still trying to learn if Borla has anything worth pursuing - getting doubtful - I'm not surprised - I just want to share my experience....carry on....
