Search for "booster dewey" on this board. He rebuilds boosters on the west coats. No rebuild kit exists..from the dealer. I think a rebuild costs $225 or so.
It is cheaper to source another brake booster from a donor vehicle if you want to get back on the road. If you are building a show truck...that is another story.

They sell rebuilt boosters for $600 or $700 depending on which one you need. You can get a minitruck booster for $35 at a wrecking yard. Your call.
Booster Dewey needs a rebuild kit to rebuild your booster. If you can't get one, he can't either. I called a year or so ago.

Booster Dewey still does re-builds on earlier type boosters 71-75, I just ordered one from him this morning. $130 to rebuild yours. I got the zinc dichromate plated one that matches stock for $50 more and it was sitting on his shelf so I can compare mine and the new one when installing.
I was having rough idle(lean) when pushing on the brakes as well as popping on decel in gear when pressing the brakes. According to SOR over time a booster intake leak will burn the exhaust valve in the 5 & 6 cylinder.....I just did a valve job so I don't want that.

What year brake boosters will work for a 73 FJ40? I need one for mine as well.... I read where people have used Mini truck boosters and 4 runner boosters and even celica ones... Wondering what year 4 runner, mini or other one will work... I may order one off ebay or call the local junk yard but wanted to know exactly what I was looking for first.
