I am late to the party here, but I wanted to say thanks! I am still onboard for buying one.

BREAKING NEWS

Contracts signed and order placed. Will keep you posted on progress regarding North American arrival, test fitting and R&D on packing / shipping to ensure the safe delivery of the bonnets. Think November.....

ETA TBD, NO BS OK? :) :)

On to the next project ....

You think you can get "vent visors" for the front windows? On of mine fell off while I was driving. I saved it, but it is worse for wear :(

I don't understand what you are referring to. Perhaps wind deflectors on the leading edge of door frame wrapping up and back around window?

Example from a lesser brand rig (that will be powering your 73) :rimshot:

In my humble opinion, this style is a lot more desirable than it's larger cousin.

I have ordered two sets of these - slimline and "big boy" versions for testing. They are lightly smoked gray, not clear.

I like slimline gray (matches what's left of my hair)

Will one of these fit my HZJ79 bonnet? If so I will buy one if I'm not too late.
With patience, duct tape and wood shims anything will fit. If not, Rednecks couldn't survive.

The first batch is for earlier Series, but we can order later models. Let's see how the quality and response looks and will include in the next order.

Customization / modification of our products not recommended....will void your warranty.

Sounds good, thanks! I'll try to pay closer attention, just saw this thread today.
No worries. Things move pretty slow in my world. Ordering, shipping, etc. from the other side all adds up. Patience is a virtue not in my kit. :crybaby: But I'm workin' on it!

UPDATE ON TIMING

Got a response to email to the manufacturer - the first batch is scheduled to be in USA first week of November. As discussed above, we will fit to a couple of rigs and make sure packing/shipping details result in undamaged delivery to you.

UPDATE ON LATER SERIES

For those with post-1990 70 Series, the manufacturer provides a separate p/n for later rigs. Given the sheet metal appears identical, the only conclusion I have reached is that the later "louvered" grill is thicker and requires different mounting tabs. Several folks with 1991+ rigs have asked to order bonnet protectors and we will accomodate after I try fitting an early model on my 1991 to see if they will fit with a little effort.

If the product quality, fit and shipping issues are all within bounds, then we will order later model 70 Series bonnet protectors along with side window deflectors.

Thank you for your patience and support in this little endeavor. Unlike the bearing business and other lines, the "accessories" segment of our activities are a no/low profit service vs. justifiable money-maker, so not fair to involve our resellers and installing shops in distribution at this point. 70 Series accessories (Dougs Tubs, bonnet protectors and other plastic bits) will remain direct access for the time being.
