This is the third 80 series radiator failure I've witnessed second hand in three weeks.

They're just old and need to be replaced at this point. They're made out of recycled heater tees, and have about the same service life.

The next day I checked the group text tracker and Jerry was home.

That's it. We all made it albeit one missed an Archery tourney and one (Anna) missed a day of work.

The only thing that we learned is that we are all undating to platinum AAA and checking cards before we take off on our next trip.

Here is the GoPro story. Enjoy the ride.

The area around the 3:00 mark is one of my favorite areas in the Ozarks. Glad to see y'all enjoying this great state. Great video

Just wanted to clarify my involvement with these shenanigans.

As @slacker24-7 mentioned, I was at HSORVP for the Ramble when I got service and caught an emergency distress text from Dave about 11:30 seeking an 80-series radiator. I turned to Daryl and asked if he might know where one was, to which he replied that he did not. I offered the radiator out of my 80 to Dave thinking that would be a true last resort. He pitched to Jerry, and the plan stuck. We made a date for 9 AM at my parents' place to rob the 80 of its liver. I pulled the truggy home and finally got to bed around 2:30.

The next morning I offloaded the truggy at my house and headed back to the ORV park. 80 was loaded up quickly and pointed the tow rig towards the chop shop. Dave, Jerry, and Anna arrive shortly after I drop the 80. Jerry works the top side of the radiator, and I start pulling hoses off the bottom. Before I can ask too many questions, Jerry has the radiator pulled, which has clearly upset the water gods, as it has started to pour. Nevertheless, Jerry and crew load up after some hasty good-byes, and they head back to the scene of the crime.

I say all this to mainly clarify that I don't think I did anything special or extraordinary. I had to retrieve the 80 from the park at sometime Sunday; just a little earlier than maybe I had planned. No biggie. I don't drive this 80 to work, so it's available for parts at anytime when needed, such as this case. I was honored to be able to help, because that's what this (and life) is all about. I know Dave and others wouldn't hesitate to do the same for me, as evidenced by Daryl, JT, JRob, Tony, etc. robbing the steering box off Sherry's rig SCC '15 so I could get my 80 off the trail. This is just what we do, and I'm immensely proud that this is what we do for others.

Thanks as always for the play-by-play on these trips. I thoroughly enjoy them. Sorry about your catastrophes, @USMC22 but it was nice to meet you and your wife. Wish the circumstances were better, but that's how it goes :-)
