As some of you know I had my Land cruiser painted and am in the process of putting it back together. I had the interior and headliner out to weld shut the roof holes. Anyway....I have a box of bolts from the body shop and can't figure out where these ones came from. Most of the disassembly I did myself and labeled things but there were a couple of things they did and left unbuttoned :( Any help would be appreciated.

The bolt heads are a lot deeper than any bolt on the land cruiser that I can remember and definitely deeper than the bolts of similar size on the land cruiser body. One of the bolts has a bit of spray from when they painted so I am guessing it belongs to this vehicle but maybe not? There aren't any washers with them either which is a bit odd.

They look like these....

The transmission cooler is held on with bolts that look like that.

^^^This^^^. Same bolts (12mm) are used for the brackets that mount the auxiliary tranmisssion cooler in front of the AC condensor.

I'll go take a look and see if it is these. Seems like this is probably right.

Took a look at the transmission cooler to see if they were the same bolts. Unfortnunately they weren't...they did have a #4 on them though.

I ended up taking off all of the front end again looking around to see if there were any missing bolt holes or any bolts that look similar and couldn't find anything.

Any chance the bolts come from the front dash near the passenger side or the ac/condenser area? The body shop was in that area when running a new antenna wire. Could it be from something in the front fender well where the antenna mast attatches? I don't recall any bolts like this on the antenna mast mounting bracket an the old antenna mast definitely doesn't have any bolts this size. Just throwing out ideas of areas I know the body shop touched.

They looked larger in the photos. The search continues.

fender bolts or rad cross member bolts would be my guess

Unfortunately not the radiator cross member bolts. Looked around the front end and couldn't find anything. Which fender bolts are you refering to? If it is the ones that hold the outer fender "skin" to the fender around the top of the engine bay than no but if it is something hidden behind the fender skin than maybe? The bold heads are so much deeper than any of the bolts I've been handling with the interior, rear bumper, fender flares, hood, cowl, front bumper or front grill.

It makes me wonder if they even belong to the land cruiser itself but one of the bolts had some green overspray that makes me think it must have been on the vehicle when it was painted.

green over spray is saying tha tits most likely a body bolt of some sorts unlikely that its from the interior. it is possible that someone used the wrong bolts on install instead of those and now you have extra

No washers makes me think they are interior bolts, yet over spray almost certainty means exterior. What exactly were the things that you didn't button up yourself/label bolts for?

What is the bolt length in MM?

The main things that I didn't do myself were the radio antenna which meant they undid part of the dash from the radio to the passenger footwell and opened up the passenger fender skin. The rest I did myself but unfortunately they mixed up some of the bolts that I had bagged and labled which made things a little more difficult. They did re-install the moon roof and I am missing 2 bolts and 1 nut from that but they don't look to be the same bolts as the ones here.

As far as size, I'll have to measure them but they are short - maybe 15mm total and around 8mm shank length?

Ooooh maybe that is it. It would make sense as that is a spot I just haven't checked yet and the body shop for some reason thougtht that is was impossible to accesss that area despite me pointing out the access hole in the engine bay. I'll have to take a look this weekend.
