Bolt identification - I know it is a long shot :(

There are a 10 or 12 bolts that hold on the front valance under the grill. I think I got all of mine back in but I certainly considered leaving a few out due to the overkill of fasteners. They look like body bolts to me.

I'll take a look again but pretty sure it isn't one of those bolts. It is sized different than any of the other body bolts and I took off the front bumper, grill, lights etc looking for anything that matched or was missing and didn't see a bolt like it :(.

My bet is that they are the antenna mount bolts.

So.. I took out the antenna hoping to find where these bolts may go and unfortunately it was unfruitful in the sense that the bolts still go un identified but fruitful in ruling this possiblity out.

Interestingly the antenna above that is new has differnent bolts holding it to the bracket than originally came with the antenna and the antenna motor/housing looks different too. I picked up a used antenna and didn't go new for my replacement. The bolt that holds the bracket to the fender has a taper to the tip of it making it easier to position and get started on the bracket threads that are hidden from view when it is in the fender well. Nice thoughtful design.

In the last photo you can see how much deeper the head of the strange bolt is compared to the antenna bolt which has a washer matches the other body bolts in shape/style.

Tap a new hole for it somewhere and screw it in! Problem solved and now has a home ;P :flipoff2:

Is it a 10mm head? Honestly I can't recall seeing any washer less screws on my cruiser except for on the engine, valve cover region but it seemed out of place. It looks like a fairly common Nissan fastener, especially with the thick brim. Like something from a late 80's - early 2000 ecu or relay mounting hardware. Honestly it looks like a well sheltered exterior bolt as it is weathered but not badly, upper engine would make sense to me...then it looks like either heavy coating oxidization or aluminum marring at the top to the threads, possibly worn thread? Don't know but my phone is at 3% so it's pretty dimly lit.

I think the body shop swept the floor and threw in all their extra screws in a bag and handed them to you just for fun

I think you are probably right. That was my gut feeling seeing them as well but just wanted to see if anyone else had seen them or recalled seeing these somewhere before. There were 2 other small trim screws that looked like dash screws or headlight trim screws but again they were just slightly different than the other Toyota screws and I can't seem to find where they belong. My guess is that if someone else is as stickler as me had their car painted there they are scracthing their heads wondering where their missing bolts are and where some extra odds and end bolts they have ended up with are supposed to fit :)

I'll hold onto the bolts incase I find out that they do belong but at this point will assume they are imposters. I appreciate those taking the time to look them over and give some feedback.

I think someone else had mentioned it but these look like the bolts that run along the inside of the front wheel well attaching the panel to the fender. My 80 was repainted by the PO and I found 4 of them missing later down the line.
