I am helping a customer sell this Cruiser. His reason for selling is to free up money for his Troopy build we are doing.

My shop has currently done zero work on this Cruiser.

I changed the listing to SOLD. The owner wants me to put this on hold right now. I did a massive inspection on it yesterday. We will open it back up as available once he gives me the green light.

This was a 10/1989 US spec FJ62. It has been converted to a HJ62 by installing a 12HT, H55 5spd, full float rear axle and cable lockers. The Cruiser has just under 234,000 miles.

This Cruiser has had tons of quality parts thrown at it. MAF shackle reversal kit, 4+ u-bolt flip kit, WagonGear cargo and tailgate panels, sliders, bumpers 8274 and more. The cruiser got a full disassembled paint job by Profits in 2020 at the cost of $25k.

I will add more details as my time allows. In the meantime I will post a bunch of pics taken today. Here is also a link to more information.

It’s not a perfect Cruiser and does have some issues but this combo is really rare in the USA and for the right person this is a dream Cruiser.

Ok, still at the shop so will start the "Good" list and post. I will also do "Bad" post. The customer has asked me to handle all this for him so that is what I am doing, however as most of you know from my 20yrs on the forum and having sold multiple Cruisers like this here, I am 100% a full disclosure guy!

The owner bought this Cruiser some time ago out of California, 2010ish. It already had the 12HT in it, not sure how much else was done. He has done A LOT to it since he bought it. See the link in the first post for more info on the background and time line of the build process.

*I am going to edit this post as I get more familiar with this Cruiser*

The GOOD:
-12HT, doesn't smoke. Have not done any real cold starts because we are only down to 55* or so at night but not abnormally smokey on a "cold" start. Idles good, revs good, has power you would expect. I am told it is for sure running a GTurbo, it looks like a CT26 housing, perhaps that is what GTurbo used/uses on the 12HT turbos. Meaning it has GTurbo guts in the Toyota turbo housing. Only running 10psi so I assume tuned for reliability.
-Full float rear axle, I personally I think it is a great upgrade for any 60.
-Cable lockers, even harder to find than a FF rear axle. I haven't tested yet but I will.
-OEM Turbo tach with turbo lights.
-H55, works well, I believe it may have been a new unit, check the link I posted in the first post.
-Nice Tuffy console.
-Really nice (the best) WagonGear cargo panels and tailgate storage panel.
-Recaro seats recovered in vinyl. Nice and comfy, lots of leg room. Headliner is newish and matches seats as well as pillar vinyl trim.
-4+ (?) front bumper with 8274 Warn winch with Factor55 thimble and synthetic cable.
-Kaymar rear bumper, it is old.
-Sliders and rear quarter panel protection.
-No cracks in the dash pad!
-Super awesome OEM "turbo" grill.
-Pretty good Cooper 255's, will get date code off them.
-Long Range fuel tank, looks to be the big one.
-Twin sticks on the transfer case.
-Very nice frame, zero rust or rot.
-MaF shackle reversal kit, love it or hate it. It is bolted on not welded on so easy to remove and go back to OEM config.
-Euro outside mirrors, another love or hate it.
-Has a number of diesel specific items such as the glow light and fuel filter light.

That is all for now, we have only had it 24hrs now. :meh:

Cheers
