Has anyone experienced this? I tore out the interior of the LJ70 today to install an amplifier and discovered cracks where the driver front seats bolts to the body (LHD rear seat bolts) I didn't realize I was gaining that much weight.

I didn't grind the stitch welds smooth, out of fear of losing any additional strength. I'll re-inspect in a few weeks to see if the cracks return.

@Alexh85 , Did you just weld the cracked area, or did you do any extra reinforcement of the mount area?
Underneath the LJ, on the outside bolt closest to the door, there was some "webbing" that also cracked through, but
the area has undercoating that needs to get cleaned up prior to repair.

To be honest, i haven't got around to welding it up yet. I know what ya mean about the webbing, i think mines done the same. Ill definitely weld that up. But i dont think ill bother reinforcing any thing, The repair should last a fair while.
Cheers

Yep my 87 BJ73 has it as well. I think it is a pretty common issue. I haven't welded it yet but my plan is to weld the crack and then weld a reinforcement plate to spread out the load a bit as well.
