When going around corners i have to slow way down because my 92 FJ80 leans so much. Everything is stock, but new 1 year ago put on Bilstein shocks and i run BF AT 32.11.50x15.
Anyone else have this problem?
What would you recomment for my suspention, i am 95% one the city roads.

First, realize it's not a miata. You NEED to slow down a lot to take corners.

Are your shocks adjustable for dampening or rebound? You can try to firm them up a bit if they are.

Also check tire pressures, easy and a cheap mod. Firmer tires tend to corner better. Don't go overboard, stay within factory specs.

what psi you run your tires at? that's likely a contributing factor but I've also never been a fan of the piece of dung bilcrap shocks either.

Thanks for the quick reply Doc, don't get me wrong i don't drive my LC hard, but even on ramps and off ramps cause alot of lean. Sometimes i feel like i am holding up traffic when getting on the freeway.

You have a 3FE, of course you hold up traffic......:D

My bilstein shocks have no adjustments as far as i know. I normaly run 40 to 45psi in my tires

PS. nothing happens when i try the quick reply?

I have thought about some OME springs, but not sure of what one's to get, i would like to have at least a 1in lift. One question i have about the OME springs is. I have been reading some othe LC boards and have read where a few guy installed correctly the springs, later to see there LC sage on one side. I would not want this to happen.

Talk to the folks at sleeoffroad.com and they will make sure you don't go wrong.

The folks at those OTHER boards are unaware that springs from countries where they drive on the other side of the vehicle mean you must switch them for US cruiser use. Ignore them and their weenie advice. heh

Add another vote for OME861/862 low lift springs! Cornering in such big truck could not be more fun :)

Stock springs in a 91-92 are scary in the corners.

I have 3" of lift and can take most exit ramps at speed or faster...much improved.

Agreed,
replace those springs changing the dampening rate will help you a little bit in corners but it will ride like chit otherwise. change out the springs even the low springs if you do not want to lift. it will flatten out your lean paster than anything else you could do.

Randy,

Another vote for the OME 861/862 springs. I just added them to my '94 with adjustable Rancho 9000's. These springs will give you about 1/2 inch lift in the front and about 3/4 in the rear. Not noticable, but noticable since your stock springs are probably sagging like mine were.

Go for it - you will be happy with the firmer ride and cornering.....but it's still not a Miata! hehehe
