Hi all,
I am adding some power bmw seats and will need to run some additional wiring. I am going to add a blue sea in the cab, probably in the passenger footwell area, and one in the engine bay for future accessories. After looking at the engine Bay Area I’m leaning towards building a bracket near the battery for the firebox and breaker. Does anyone have a picture of their setup? I did a search and did not see much for the 60’s. Thanks a bunch and any advice would be welcomed

Hello bcolvin. I added a Blue Sea distribution box in my engine bay. You can find info in this thread, see link below. I've had this in for ~2k miles and many water crossings, rain etc and zero issues. I have it located on the passenger side aft of the battery box. Let me know if you want any further information.

Cheers, James

James,

That’s looks great….. and pretty straightforward. Thanks for sharing that .

When I was cleaning up all my extra wiring, I mounted a this protective case behind my second battery and was able to fit the blue sea fuse box and few other things inside. Just bolted to inner fender and fashioned a bracket coming up off wheel well to secure it.

I added a 40A blue sea breaker in the engine bay then mounted the fuse box in the passenger footwell.

If you don’t use your rear heater (I ditched mine) there is 30a fused and relayed power already right between the seats. Works great for BMW seat conversion.

that’s great information. I’m trying my best to keep my rear heater, even if I have to build a bracket that accommodates it or use the 60 seats. It was 5 degrees heading into work this morning and that rear heater really kicks out the warmth. I’m going to wire in a blue sea in the passenger footwell.

That looks awesome. I wonder if I can fit that in on the other side?
