Blowing Gauge Fuse...any suggestions kids?

Just started happening with our 97 LX450. Seems to hold for a little while but blows when put into gear.
Same. Disconnected two plugs on drivers side fender and reconnected a few times and I thought I had it. Then outta nowhere blew again when shifting out of park.

If the fuse pops when shifting out of PARK, then it's most likely something in the engine bay as the motor moves on its mounts.
FWIW, the 10 amp GAUGE fuse feeds 54 circuits. Mostly logic to other circuits along with the combination meter. Details are in the Toyota EWD.
 
Observation. My driveway is on a slight incline. When I pull in and park, all is good. I've found that everytime I back in, the fuse blows when I turn the key to leave. Food for thought.
 
Eureka! I moved all the wiring that I could reach in the engine bay one area at a time until I got the fuse to blow 2x. Turns out it was the thick bunch of wires wrapped in heat shield sheathing right between the back of intake and firewall. It was pinched and apparently wore through over time. It is difficult to work back there, but I managed to pull it upward and forward to get out of the pinch. I then tied it up so it won't fall back between there. This was a huge relief to find and I hope it helps someone else. I'd bet I went through 15 or more fuses. I was at the point where I would pull the fuse before I went down any hills or backed up my own driveway.

I don't think that that harness is routed correctly.
 
That def not routed correctly. Somebody deleted your egr/or you did and re routed your main engine harness it should go down between the engine and intake plenum where that other section of harness is routed.
 
If the fuse keeps blowing and moving the harness "fixes" it, then you'll need to open up the harness to repair the wiring short. It's not hard to do and once its taken care of (including placing the harness back where it goes) you'll be able to drive without worrying a fuse is about to blow at any moment.
 
It's a 95 with 1FZ-FE.

Agreed, but I half assed opened up the sheathing and couldn't see any bare wires. So I closed er back up and moved it away from the pinch zone for now.
