I have a HJ60, with a 2H, (JDM) without a block heater.

How hard/easy is it to install one?
Who has em?

Thank You

Andrew

you should also be able to order a block heater from Toyota for that engine.

Zerostart sells a 400 watt freeze plug heater for the 2H. Part number 3100021. The diameter is 35mm. They recommend it be placed in the right rear freeze plug hole in the block and have the element angled at the 3 or 5 o'clock position. The same unit is supposed to fit the 3B.

I haven't gotten around to looking at my 2H to see if that right rear freeze plug is easily accessable.

In the Zerostart catalog, the lower radiator hose heater is listed as "not applicable" for the 2H. That doesn't mean it won't work.

I have a 1983 BJ 42 with a 1987 3bii engine in it, are there any other Canadian links you can reccommend, as we have nothing on this side for these specialized vehicles, except for dealers, and they often dont have info regarding our unique trucks, especially when it comes to 24v and such..... thanks in advance, the more specific the better! stephen

PS Rufus is doing well, lol.....

Do the recommend the same placement for a b series engine? I have a Napa one coming in and will probably do the install (and hose replacments) this weekend. Also, rigth side looking at the engine, or in the driver's seat?

On the 3B block place the block heater into the right rear frost plug.
Right side looking at the engine, the drivers side.
I put a block heater into my BJ74, starts first time with no porblems.
