Just trying to wrap my mind around this trail....for us wagons, is it the width that's the issue or the longer wheelbase?

Some of each. With a good xfer case skidplate and winch you could pull over the middle, or you could probably go around, like the picture of David coming down Jaws 2 - that's the route I took up. I went over the middle coming down, since I'm a couple inches higher and had the hardtop on. The trouble with "going around" is the penalty for failure.

It takes a lot of constant attention - I'd definitely say 33's would be the minimum tire too. This is not a trail that's been scraped out by an occasional rig with 31's...

Most fun and hardest trail I've ever been on. I know my heart's in good shape!

It sounds like fun, but I'm not sure I want to be the first one to try it in my 80! Let's get Ali and Onur out there to scope it out for us 80 guys. What the hell - Graham's not scared of anything - let's get him out there too.

Just dangle a carrot in front of Onur and he'll go.....

I've thrown rocks down hills and Onur chases them in his 80.:flipoff2:

Sounds like a fun trail for my truck.....

The skirt idea is good, but with my luck being as bad as it has been since I moved here, I'm not counting on finding a skirt on the trail, or near the trail, or even in Northern New Mexico....:frown:

Is this a day trip or an overnighter? That cool lake looks like a great camping spot.

I'm in. I know the Moab trip is coming up, so maybe it is best to save this for a Sunday in October....what do you all think?

Actually the lake is at 12,000 feet, so it'll probably be next year as they'll be getting snow real soon. They already had snow at Breckenridge. The trail is hard enough without being slippery...

I think I'd give this one a try with the 4Runner if the club goes.

That's the spirit Jim...Nice....I dig watching your truck do it's magic....

Yep - Maybe we should pencil in something for next August or so. An overnight would be nice too...

I'm in for next year. My plan is to drive behind Onur. After he finishes an obstacle I'm going to do a different line (you know...the correct one).

Camping out would be great.

It won't be hard to tell which lines are bad after his 80 has stopped rolling over.

If you other 80's are going to make it, then I'll give it a shot as well. It sounds like a fun trail, if not a little adrenaline-inducing!
