Blacked Out Grill PIcs

Couple pics of mine. First is 2 coats of Rustoleum flat black on the sombrero grill.

Then upgraded (or downgraded depending on your perspective) to the older 80 TOYOTA grill. Also two coats of the flat black, then hand painted the Toyota portion with Rustoleum bright white.

I much prefer this front grill over the sombrero logo grill.

Yes, but if you look closely there is a gap between it and the later year (95+) valance.

Peelacoat matte black with reflective tape for a nice way to let on coming traffic see the TOYOTA lettering from a long long ways away.

Thanks for all of the inspiration guys. I finished blacking out the grill today. Prepped it with scotchbrite, used three coats of self-etching primer, and five coats (per the directions) of Rustoleum Flexidip. Looks great! Hopefully it stays that way...View attachment 1524954

It’s factory. My US model ‘94 had it on the front and rear bumpers.

Interesting. Must be a pretty rare option, either that or I haven't been paying attention and just notice it for the first time.
