@baldilocks what did you use?
After roughing it up I sprayed it with Rustoleum spray on truck bed liner. It has a slightly gritty finish and is UV stable. I also use it on my bumpers and sliders.

Primed with self etching then painted. Held up over 4 years pretty well.

I made those badges for a very short period of time. There was definitely some demand for them so I did my best at releasing the product. After about a month I realized I was losing money on every badge. They're very difficult and expensive to make. I wasn't even charging enough to cover my cost. Now that I am making my Badges in aluminum this might be a product I can pull off on the CNC machine. If there was enough interest I might bring it back. I would need at least 10 guys that wanted one to at least cover the investment on making a new jig and a batch. I also need to spend a little time looking in to making the part and making sure this time around I could make a profit instead of losing.

Couple coats of satin black Krylon fusion. Seems to be holding up well, there's some reflections in the picture that make it look worse than it is but the grille is still somewhat shiny and not peeling or anything. Should have cleaned it better first, but I was in a hurry...:meh:

I went through different iterations. First was blacking out the pre94, then was the sombrero which also made me get new headlights and lower valance. Then I saw the Satoshi mod on here and attempted that. And so far I quite like the satoshi mod.

I havent done the light surrounds yet. Been too focused on mechanical stuff to worry about cosmetics for the moment.

I removed and washed the grill thoroughly with dawn dish soap and dried, then wiped down with acetone while wearing nitrile gloves to avoid contamination with skin oils. I then prepped the surface with Dupli-Color clear Adhesion Promoter (CP199). For the top coat I used Rustoleum Trim & Bumper paint in Matte Black (251574).

I've only got around 2k miles since painted but it look like it will hold up nicely. So far it's still perfect. Sorry the photo is crap.

I'm going to completely derail this thread by asking "where did you find that awesome badge?"
Ha. Looks like @bhicks already answered this. Was lucky enough to snag this a few years ago from him.

The old '96, Rustoleum satin.

I used rustoleam flat black and cleaned all the parts with acetone before spraying.

I'd be in for one.
