Black box on ignition coil

I'm hoping yall can help me out. On the coil mount there is a little black box with two wires, black and blue. The black wire goes to a mounting ring. Where does the ring attach to? Is it just a ground?

FAFO. I thinkk you need an EWD for the ignition. Probably a little condenser to soften the voltage spike.

Yes, ground that ring terminal out. I believe it's a condenser for the radio to help mitigate some amount of EMF interference.
