My truck is missing it's factory winch, any recommendations on a decent, reliable winch? my truck has a 24v system, thank you for your advice

Was it a PTO or an electric?

Comeup DV-9 and DV-12 winches both come in 24V.

I opted for the 24v 9000lb model from Pierce Arrow.
This winch is normally used on commercial wreckers so it is very highly rated for reliability / durability.
It is also narrow enough to fit between the frame rails of my 70.
Cost to my door was ~$900.
It weighed in at close to 90 lbs, so it was not as light as other options, but not so heavy to be a deal breaker for me.
Good luck

I ran across these:

24v and at one time they offered free shipping to the US. I do not know anyone who has tried one.

I know of a couple BJ74s running 24v Comeup winches. I believe Cruiser Outfitters sells them.

Can't go wrong with a 24V Warn 8274.

I just put a 12V Comeup on my HDJ81, but no personal feedback yet. When I was researching them I couldn't find a bad word about them on mud... at least not from anyone that actually had experience with one.

thank you all!!

Measure in detail the space that you have available. The distance between the front of your bezel and back side of your bumper will probably be the most critical.
Also, be sure to factor in material for brackets / room for installation-removal / fabrication (i.e. possible modifications to current bumper because the primary attachment bolts will probably pass through the bumper taking compression load).

The following is the link to Pierce's website
Here are dimensioned images of the unit (pulled from the Pierce website which I found to be accurate when I modified my bumper for fitment of the winch)

Finally, the free spool level can be reconfigured to be on either side of the winch. The way I installed the winch put the level well forward of the grill and brush bar, so I moved it to the opposite side of the winch. Before doing it, I called Pierce to confirm that such a customer change would not void the warranty.
