My old BJ73 has the 3B engine, eventually being repowered with a 1HDT.
Was thinking about the layout and that abomination of an airbox.....

I don't mind redoing the air ducting or playing with the airbox mounts, so has anyone taken an airbox from another cruiser (or other) and found it to line up pretty well to minimize the need for hacking and chopping to fit it in?

Here is my terribly embarrassing airbox...and no, not my doing, I just inherited it this way.

I agree w Joe. Try a lid.
I took a 1987 bj and replaced apron w 1990+ hz to fit an entirely new air box and intake system.

Out of interest, does the lower part of the 80 series airbox mount to the original mounting points of the old BJ airbox?

Only ask8ng because I was offered a custm 80 series airbox.
