I hadn't the factory mirrors, so I bought a pair of mirrors for 30€ and started to make the attachments for the doors...

Congrats mate, so proud of you!
Happy that we're close enough and we can celebrate it with your good dry wine!

PS. Sure, we will share the party with our Mud brothers!

A "long trip" indeed!
but as many Mudders believe, like in Odyssey, the journey is the destination...

Instead of all the work of making the door pull handles would hit the easy button for a replacement. 75 FJ40 Toyota changed to a pull handle that was flimsy on the ends. 84 model finally replaced those with a solid handle. Those continued on in the 70 which were not offered in black but grey was a good match. Ambulance door uses the same handle with the same spacing as previous years which matches the side doors.

Bought some handles from a member in Canada a few years back. The black one are either dirty or painted black. They are actually gray. The other handles are the same spacing as the over the door handle on the late model 40 series.

Door header handles for reference.

Bottom hand is from a 60 series which are soft and bent down and stay when used.

Hello my friend. It's a good idea indeed but i wanted something more classic and handmade...

So its 1 inch tubular nylon. Folded over and glued with a washer inside, then I heated a 16 penny nail red hot and mented the screw hole threw all the layers. Used the OEM screws. Been there since the 1990's.
