any shots of interior floor etc.?

pm sent

For the moment I do not have pics off the floor,in the rear there is a diamond plate welded over the original floor:confused:(don't ask it must be a Panamanian thing:meh:)In the front I have put some insulation material over it to protect myself from the heat here and the engine noise so I does not show anything.

Here are some interior pics

Can you tell me what transfer case is in the cruiser?

The transmission is the H151F and the transfer case is a part time 80 series transfer case, not sure what the code number is.

that is the sweetest 40 ever i wonder what the importation laws are for canada form your neck of the woods?

It's older then 25 years so in most parts off the world it's a classic/antique vehicle without all the fuss like the newer car inspections.

Just to explain something,I already received a bunch of pm's from people asking me when it will be in the US and where can they see it.......

If it doesn't get sold in the next 3 weeks I will drive it to TX around december but the complete BJ will not be for sale then.I will use the 1HDT+Trans for a new LWB project and part the rest out.

Come on, I thought the pricing was pretty clear on this 12500$.......I have seen ads where they were asking this for a halfcut with this engine and trans.

AGAIN MY LOSS IS YOUR GAIN.

Mostly true..however any vehicle that is 21 years and older that has had an engine transplant, the whole import 21 year old window gets slammed shut by EPA. Sorry to be the bearer of the bad news. Good luck with the sale, it is a very interesting rig.

You are the first to tell me this, even when I made a tread about importing my Bj here on Mud nobody thought it would be a problem.Anyway if it's not sold quickly I will bring it to the US with me and take it from there.

BTW if they check my original title on my BJ it states all the correct numbers for the engine trans and everything else,it nowhere says that I changed anything, for that you got to love country's like Panama:hhmm::clap:

The country of Panama may have done you the ultimate favor :smokin:

Then it would be up to the insurance company checking it out to even "catch" the fact that it is not original, correct?

I'm sure that it would be very easy to "overlook" something like that ;)

This section of of the EPA July 2010 "Procedures for Importing Vehicles and Engines into the United States" should provide the clarity....

First..I invite the mods to poof all my posts in this thread as it is really not my intent to provide legal advice merely pointing some things out and obviously it is directly germain to joekatana's interests selling of his excellent 40.

Lastly, there are always many ways/options to bring in a vehicle...do the research and pick you comfort level.

Again, good luck with the sale, it is a vey sweet rig

Hey guys I am not bothered with the EPA and do not want to fool anybody so just leave it where it is.

The part I do not understand is where the EPA states"emmission certification requierements"!

So far I understood that in the US there were no emmission testings on Diesel engines?

Anyway since there are several HZJ 74/75 here on Mud in the US wich uses more or less the same engine I think it will be easier to get a diesel vehicle more then 25years old in the country then a newer one.

If it's not sold this month I will be making a new LWB rig with the engine and trans and part the rest out.

Unlike some of the web wheelers out there....

I have actually imported a non-USA truck. Soon I will be importing another.

If you fill out the right forms (sorry don't recall form #s as it has been over 5yrs now) the EPA & DOT do not check anything. Itf it is a 25yr+ old truck it is exempt, period, end of story.

I have a friend who also imported a non-USA truck too. Same thing for him.

Now registering it in your state, that is a different story.

Considering I see those axles fetching $5-8,000 here in the USA, not to mention what the engine fetches. Plus what H55s sell for, $2500-3500. I would think this would sell super fast. A boat ride from Panama to Florida is going to be cheap by sea freight standards. I have also driven the Pan AM from the USA to Panama and back twice. The drive is fairly easy and mellow and can be done in 8 days. I used 330galas of fuel in my 3.4 S/C Tacoma each way.

Do the math! This truck is well worth importing!! If I had the cash I would do it just to make a few bucks!
