Any recommendations on better shipping providers you are familiar with that offer service between the the US and Canada? I'd love to have our team look into it.

Fortunately USPS has been decent for most but just as you've found with US to Canada shipments, they can be painfully slow on domestic shipments too. For anyone in a rush, we recommend UPS which I believe we offer into Canada as well? Outright losses with USPS are well under 1%. If a package we sent you in the past never made it, let me know the invoice number as I'd love to look into it personally.

Personally I like USPS and have never had a problem. In fact it's my favorite method of shipping from the US.

Sadly this is a bit beyond a simple matter of shipping at the moment.

X2

USPS has been my preferred because it tended to avoid extra brokerage fees, but since they don't ship from outside the USA I won't be using them anymore. Australia is now my go to for 40 series parts... sorry Kurt.

All good. I just wanted to chime in and say we are happy to look at other reasonable shipping options and that in the meantime, we will continue to fulfill orders to Canada with USPS to new and existing customers in Canada, relationships we cherish. We (except Matt, Roger, Mark & medication lol) may be "dead" to you, but y'all aren't dead to us.

FedEx is pretty good. Just got a couple of steering boxes rebuilt by redhead in ID and shipped up to the island.

You ain’t dead to us, it’s just very awkward cross border at the moment 😉

With shipping rates, the dollar exchange and taxes/duties and tariffs now … sigh.

Canadians might be finding better deals overseas, particularly Oz. Although nothing is cheap anymore… except maybe cruiser owners. lol

Nothing personal, those who have dealt with you know the deal.

Cheers

Parts arrived from Australia last week. Shipping time was very reasonable… and only $10ish.

Not sure when I’ll replace the parking drum and shoes… :( too much happening in the next couple weeks.

Solved a mystery. Though I’d blown a fuse since the Ford stereo had no power. Turns out it was a broken connection at the copper shut? (Or whatever it is)
Soldered a small jumper across the break and it is working perfectly now.

Nice work! Heavy inductor should have had more support than just solder electrical connection. That can eventually fatigue as happened for you.

It also appeared to have a ring of double sided tape between it and the board. Which would hardly do anything in the grand scheme of things. It originally came out of a 2004. It's sad that so many things are built only to last till the warranty is over. I'm glad I found the break... I didn't really wand to go back to the stock AM/FM.. and I don't drive it enough to want to put something fancy/expensive in it. Some day I should burn some MP3 discs... it I can find a computer with a drive... ;)

JK... almost all my computers have a DVD RW Drive.

The last few times I went for a spin, I started noticing the driver’s side floor was sinking.
So today I pulled back the mat to explore…

I’ve discovered that the front roll bar hoop is holding up most of the floor under my feet. It looks like it is time to pull out my spare floor stash and do some arts and crafts.

People south of us that complain about rust (when it’s surface rust) have never gone down this path.

I'm hoping sheet metal salvaged from Andy's tub will minimize how much sheet metal I'll need to fabricate from scratch. I'll also be tying in the cage to the frame mounts. Tying the cage into the frame has been on the to do list since I installed it.
