I'm starting a new thread so it covers just the August trip and attendee list since there may be multiple trips this spring and summer. Please post if you will be attending, even if you posted in the other thread, and I'll update the attendee list.

BIG CREEK 'Advanced Skills Training Grounds'

The cost is $35 per truck. When we get closer to the trip we'll finalize how payments will be made. The minimum number of trucks is 10 and a maximum of 30. If we're lucky we might get Darin @krzyabncanuck to lead us since he's now a certified instructor. Congrats Darin!

I believe the deal will start around 9am on Saturday. Those wanting to come up the night before so they don't have to get up so early can camp out for free Friday night.

Attendee List (5):
@FJ Junkie (Sarah)
@RedHeadedStepChild (Jim)

I'm in. Thanks

It is too early for me to plan for this. Is there a cap on maximum number of trucks?

I'm in for both.

We are interested but simply can not plan out that far ahead. Depending on cash flow and shop schedule Heather's 80 may be under the knife at that point. You can use us as a maybe.

Very interested. Need to confirm with the wife.

I'm out.

Scott at Big Creek called yesterday and subsequently sent an email with info for the training (I'll post the email on this thread).

I need to get confirmation on the number of trucks going. There is a flat fee if $350 or a minimum of 10 trucks ($35/truck). With only three trucks going right now it's going to be about $117/truck for the weekend unless some others can commit to go.

Anyone else honking of going? If so please confirm ASAP. Thanks!

This is the email from Scott at Big Creek:

Camping available Friday and Saturday nights for free @UORTC.

Who: All ONSC 4WD vehicles owners (No Dirt Bikes, ATVs or Side by Sides)

What: Guided trail ride

When: August 29, 2015 - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Meet: Uwharrie Off Road Training Center, 4026 NC Highway 109 North, Uwharrie, NC 27371 at 9:00 AM. We will leave at 10:00 or before if everyone is ready for BIG CREEK!!! You will leave your trailer at UORTC if you have a licensed 4WD. Limited trailer parking available at BIG CREEK. We will be meeting at UORTC not at BIG CREEK.

Where: UORTC's -BIG CREEK: Advanced Skills Training Grounds

Why: An opportunity to drive exciting new trails in the Uwharrie National Forest area; test your driving skills and your vehicle’s off road capabilities; enjoy a fun and rewarding day getting to know yourself and your 4WD vehicle. UORTC's best will be on hand to help you if you would like. We can provide expert coaching, recovery assistance and spotting. Safety and TREAD Lightly! are the most important factors.

Big Creek is a 120 acre property located 4 miles North from UORTC's headquarters. This property has been leased by UORTC to develop trails for training, coaching and fun. These trails provide challenges to test modified vehicles with lockers, large tires and WINCHES while providing bypasses that allow a near stock 4x4 vehicle (When Dry!) the ability to enjoy the same trails! Some of the trails are tight and not suitable for full size vehicles without incurring body damage! We call this our 'Advanced Skills Training Grounds' and we do not recommend this trail system for beginners.

Drivers must sign a Waiver and a Safety Agreement. All passengers must sign a Waiver. Minors under the age of 18, parents/guardians must sign a waiver for them.

One will check in at UORTC headquarters at 9:00 AM(4026 NC Highway 109 North, Troy, NC, 27371) where you will sign your paperwork. OHV trail driving/riding is an inherently dangerous sport and you acknowledge this fact and assume all liability for damage to your vehicle or injuries to you, your passengers or others on the Big Creek property!

There is LIMITED trailer parking at BIG CREEK, register early to insure your spot! There are no bathroom facilities at BIG CREEK! Bring your own food and drinks! We will stop for a lunch break on the trail. The BIG CREEK gate will close at 6 p.m. sharp!

NO ALCOHOL!

Again, there will be UORTC personnel stationed on the BIG CREEK trails to ensure your safety and provide obstacle coaching IF you so desire.
