Details? Did you break on Sunday?

Yes and it was STUPID. We were done and on our way out. We came across a Liberty that had jammed his nerf bars back into his tires. John Vee let him borrow some tools to pull them off.
Since we were right at "Poser Rock" we figure we'd take some cheesy poser pics. I was at full lock to driver, with full droop -sway bar disconnected. A bit too much right foot with too much left foot and BANG. the cage on my passenger CV joint grenaded.

Wow Jim, sounds like a rough weekend. We have a few stitch kits, surgical stapler and scapel in our first aid it for just such emergencies. Even a little mother's helper to ease the pain from the stitches, although I would not recommend driving for a bit :)

It was a great weekend. The end had a few rough moments, but on balance I'd do it all again (well, maybe not the poser shots). I had a wee bit o' Mother's helper left, but like you said, not before a 3 hour drive.

Sarah lifts it WAAAAYYYY up.

Winch Hill from the other side about 1/3 of the way up. Sarah and John Vee are about to do it to it.

I'll need to figure out what to do with my videos to get them up, and when my camera batteries are charged I'll see if I have anything better than these iPhone shots.

And this doesn't look so bad 16 hrs later after it (finally) stopped bleeding and its all cleaned up.

Picture #2 still owes me a pair of drawers... There is no way she could have stopped any later and still pulled that off. I swear it was teetering.
Indeed.
I'm pretty sure the front driver side tire lost contact with the boulder for a moment

Looks like a lot of fun guys! Quick question...what trail is this?

I've seen several pics of this rock slab before but I can't remember ever actually driving past it...and I thought I has seen pretty much all of URE.

I know race cars perform better with a bit of toe-out. I guess Isuzus not so much... Ouch!

There is an article in Toyota Trails this month about a similar issue happening occasionally with 80 series 'Cruisers. Bottom line - check your knuckles and steering arm studs/nuts periodically and bring spares on the trail. Apparently the studs will shear if the bolts aren't tightened to spec.

In this case, the driver had 2 accelerator positions, off and full throttle. No matter what the trail boss said, he just floored it. Eventually, driving like that, s*** broke.
