Good day guys. I am in the process of buying tires for my 96 FZJ80.

I am gonna have 315x75x16 as soon as the lift is ready. I am undecided between these three brands. KM2 from BFG, MTZ from MT and Nitto MG. I have read reviews but I decided to ask you all since tires might perform differently depending on the truck.

This is going to be a Daily Driver and Off Roading twice or three times a month. I live in Florida, so there's a lot of mud here, but there's also Hard Rock Park in Central Florida, with some challenging hills.

I know Mud Terrain tires in general are noisy, but I do not want my tires to be as loud as a SS Bogger.

What would you guys recomend? I'd like something quiet but good on the trail. I am not even thinking about All Terrains at all since I had a set of A/T in my FJ60, and they sucked.

Thanks a lot guys!

I've heard that the mud grapplers are loud as hell.

Lots of people like the KM2's but i dont have experience with either so take it for what its worth.

try doin a search and see if you can dig up some old posts.

You missed Interco's Trxus MT. A great all around tire and not so noisy on the hwy. I loved mine.
available in 35x12.5x16 and i got about 40k miles out of them with a good amount of pavement covered.

Personally Im going with KM2's next but I dont really care about the noise so much and they have to be quieter than the IROKS and definitely stick to the rocks better.

My friend has 33x10.5 KM2's on his heep wrangler. He has put them through the ringer! Great in mud, rocks, snow, and not very much noise on the highway! I ride with him quite a bit!

KM2s are great. Not as loud as the old KMs, very good all around performance. I would buy them again.

X2 on the Trxxus MTs. Great tire in everything but ice.

Thanks guys. Positive info about the KM2's. How about the Mikey Thompson's MTZ's? Anyone out there with these tires? Have you heard anything?

Thanks again

I have the MTZs and like them a lot, but they are not too quiet on the freeway at 75 mph--partly due to the previous vehicles alignment cupping them a bit. Walking Eagle just did a review on them a couple weeks ago and had nothing but good to say about them.

Like my MTZs a lot but they are pretty noisy. They wear good and have good traction on most terrain here in Cali. and in Arizona(rocks, dirt)They work good in snow as well(better in snow on my bro's Tacoma though)My next tire is going to be the KM2s or Kevlar MTRs.

I love my MT's, great on the road and really grip in mud. I will buy these again.:)

I have KM2s in 285/75/16. Not quiet on the highway, but not terrible. They do great in mud - they just keep marching forward through the slop. I love 'em for the conditions around here.

KM2's Not noisy great traction!!!
