My cruiser won't be lifted until late next year. So in the meantime i am running stock 285/60/18 Bridgestone Dueller H/T's. There not that great. Is there a better tire for on and offroad use for this size. Will be used in the snow occasionally come this winter. Can I go up a size without rubbing? Also, needs to work well on the highway. Price is never an issue when it comes to tires as your life depends on them. :skull:

Thanks in advance.

Never can go wrong with BFG A/Ts or Nitto TGs. Not sure about upsizing on stock lift.

I wasn't aware BFG A/T's made a 285/60/18. I will have to look into that. They are a great tire as I have had them on a past vehicle. Not familiar with Nitto TG's and how well they do on the highway and in snow. Any additional insight would be greatly appreciated.

Nitto T/G 285/65/18 here - great on highway - snow? - it's 94 degrees right now! JB - looks like you were up in the snow recently for your pics - Mt. Lemmon? How'd they do?

Yeah, no kidding about the 94*! Yeah, those pics were taken like 2-3 weeks ago when Mt. Lemmon got snow. They handled great, even aired up. Didn't get too crazy as the forest service guys don't like you going around their barriers (they are uber safe). I really think that tires get better when they are used a bit...and I think these are getting better on road and off.

As an aside, I still wish I knew about those new "sport" shocks before I put mine in. They practically came out a few days after I ordered mine. ARB should have informed me about them...

BFG makes a 285/65R18 in the A/T. That's a 32.6" tire (stock is 31.5). Not sure if it will fit or not. Didn't Mitch have this size at one point without the lift yet? Maybe he'll chime in...

lift shouldn't affect tire size

so thinking about tire rub without a lift...why would the lift change the rub? isn't the issue with most people hitting the sway bar? i've seen some pics where they rub the back mud flap, but lift or not, that would happen. that is about the width of the tire and/or offset.

the thought process behind this is that lifting the vehicle does not change the path that the tire travels through during articulation, only that it articulates over a longer path now. if it rubbed before lifting, it should rub after.

anyone find fault with this logic or have experience that differs?

Denver received almost 2ft. of snow last week and about foot a couple of weeks before that. As a recent resident of Denver, we get freak snow storms in mid summer. I cannot wait to move back as Cali has gone way to liberal and expensive (taxes). Anyways, the terra grappler sounds like a good option for my vehicle at stock height. Has your tires ever rubbed when making a hard turn?:steer:

No rubbing on flap or sway bar that I can perceive. Again, really impressed with on road/highway ride - quiet, tracks well - no wandering. And they look great as well. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Thanks-AZ997S Do you have any pictures of your rig with the tires on? :)

Has anyone tried these tires 285/65R18/E 125 W -Michelin LTX A/T 2 Kind of expensive, but has received many great reviews. Any thoughts?

Personally I don't think the LTX is an A/T tire. Just look at it. In addition, everyone comments how it drives on the highway. I don't care about the highway, I want to know how well it holds onto rocks!

I love my nitto's but might try the BF's next time around.

Good day.

Is there a reason why Cooper tires are not so popular on this forum, I have been using them for a long time on both my LC90 and LC100 (not the LC200 yet), maybe not the longest lasting but they definitely produced a very good grip and ride, not sure how they compare to the Nittos though..

One of the few options seems to be the Cooper Zeon LTZ:

I would appreciate any input/opinion on this, as I need to replace mine in the near future.
