i used two universal fit magnaflows and had a muffler shop weld it up for $30...

Find a CARB approved manufacturer/model here and then google for best price.

If you're installing yourself you could pick one up from a mudder. Shops won't install it but once it's there they won't know it's a replacement.

You cannot buys a used converter from a junk yard in California. It's also now against the law in California to install a converter that is not approved by Cali. It will have a stamp or tag on it. Sucks but might have to pay$$$ or find someone out of state. Some shops might weld a universal one on. My roomate had it done.

I don't think that's what you want. CARB lists that as a Pre-OBDII PC (passenger car) cat. There may be others as I didn't search the whole list but the only cat I found was the Airtek 712005 ($190) and you need 2.

i saw that but the description reads a bit different. I will have to check.

"MagnaFlow's California 30000 catalytic converters are the first series of a new line of converters designed for vehicles with second-generation On-Board Diagnostic (OBDII) systems. They are designed, tested, and catalogued for specific vehicles. They are not traditional universal converters. These converters exceed strict California requirements for conversion efficiency"

I think that the only issue is that the ones you listed above are OK for vehicles in California, but the CARB document does not list the LandCruiser as one of the vehicles "approved". It will have the right stamps, just not necessarily be 100% spec for your rig.

Now, not likely that this will be caught at your bienniel smog check, but you need to go into these things with your eyes wide open and be ready to either go to the "Referee" to be exempted, or change back to stock/approved ones.
