got a very stock cruiser with some 31x10.5 BFG mudterrains, slightly higher than stock height.

Wanting to take a few children 10 and under wheeling because they want to "play in the mud"

used to have a nice mud hold here in berea along the water comanys right-a-way that was about 2-2.5 ft deep but now they are kicking everyone out of there.

Im just looking for a place to drive through some puddles/mud/not so extreme hills so the kids can say they went mudding.

I've heard of glutches but it's a little far away for the attention span of ADD children and from what i've heard i'm very limited on what i can do there.

I've heard of Rices in pickens (much closer to where i work) but not much detail about the terrain.

anyone got any recomendation, I'm off this sat so i figured this might be a good weekend to play in some mud and enjoy the AC in my cruiser again for the first time in almost 3 weeks

forgive me for my lack of knowledge of 4x4 parks, for the past 15 years my project cars had a hard time getting over speed bumps at publix.

Be careful where you wheel. Its a pretty nice fine or they can take your ride.

Locally, (thats not illegal) Gluches and Rice's ORV are you only options. Or find some fire roads in the mnts.

You could hit up the horse pasture trails off 178 in pickens county....... mostly gravel roads with some water crossings. The Muster grounds is another good one and last time I was in there it had plenty of mud holes but it may be closed this time of year.

*edit* here a recent thread for the horse pasture and it appears it may have already closed for the year : https://forum.ih8mud.com/sc-upstate-cruisers/393995-pics-horse-pasture.html

I have never been in rices creek but they say it is very rough

where is the muster grounds? never heard of that place

and i believe the horse pasture is closed til @ the opening of deer season again, maybe i'm wrong but i thought it was only open around hunting seasons.

Muster Grounds is on the back side of Joecasse and is seasonal access as well. I believe it is off of highway 133 and is called the Bad creek resivior access..... I am sure someone can give you a little better info. as it has been a while since I was up there.

fire roads in the mnts...now that sounds interesting if random passenger vehicles are allowed on them. If anyone has any more info on this definately hit me up, some shallow water passes would be nice.

And on the local mud hole...was told by several people that no one cared if we used it so long as you didn't litter/dump/trash the trails

then after talking to another customer they said they had some issues with vandals and now they will call the cops on you if your caught. People like to take a good thing and ruin it by dumping old sofas/mattresses.

Do a googlemap search for red turner road in Landrum, all the fun you can handle:)

looks like some well worn trails on either side of the road following the power lines...is this a place you've been to before?

I don't want to head out there and get the popo called on me...my son is too young to tell on me but my daughter will surely tell my wife and all my inlaws!

Go up to Uwharrie this weekend. Most of the stuff you'll be able to do in a stock cruiser...

i would love to go this weekend, have to get the boat out of the garage this sat after work before the HOA has a fit and on sunday i have chruch and a hockey game.

Where exactly is Uwharrie, if i can find atleast one more person to drive along (incase i get stuck) i might be game next sat. My daughter likes my new "monster truck" tires as she calls them and wants to go to some trails.

The last time i took her to a puddle to play in she cried her eyes out screaming at the top of her lungs "i don't wanna go through the water"

So me being the dad, I did what any dad would do...i go through fast hoping she will realize it's fun. WRONG. The wife got onto me because i made the screaming worse and since the whole rig bounced around like a ping pong ball the wife is now anti-wheeling too.

After we got about 20 min down the road my daughter decided she wanted to try wheeling again.

So i have no idea how well my first(possibly last) trip with her will go to an actual ORV park but i also have a two year old...i can handle some screaming from the back seat. I figure if i can get one of her friends to come with us that is a little more daring it might make her a little more open minded.

URE is in the direction of Asheborro, NC.

So your HOA is giving you a hard time for keeping your boat inside your garage? I think its time to say :flipoff2:.

a group of us will be there this weekend...so if you get stuck on trail we will be there to help you out. so get your ass there...

check in Lowcountry forum for specifics...but camping at Badin Lake Group Camp sites....Fri through Sun. Meeting at Eldorado Outpost Saturday NLT than 8:45am to depart soon after 9am for first trail.

my garage door won't close with my boat in there....hangs out about 2ft at the tongue of the trailer.

and i would love to be there this weekend but work kind of trumphs play...got to pay for the diesel swap i'm working on...and i can't miss my game on sunday.

have you put it in there at an angle with one end in corner and other on floor...that is how my neighbor gets his to fit...leaves room for his wifes 3 series in other side and he just parks outside. His wife has about a foot when she pulls in on side to clear the tongue that sits directly on floor so she does not worry about scraping car during moment of inattentiveness...LOL
