There's been alot of good perspectives and thoughts on the "which motor is best for expedition arguemnent". And this carries over to many 40,60,70 and 80 builds in the past. and probably in the future.

I think I would like to see if MUD members in remote places could give some feedback as to sourcing common parts for a variety of gas and diesel engines.

And so I will put up a "challenge" to those in south american, european, african and asian continents on here to give some feedback as to what they can source through auto parts suppliers in their locality, and how difficult/how long for parts to get there.

I think we should do a list of the parts most likely to need replacing for a poll list of most popular motors.

So, first off, any one that wants to see what is best, lets make a list by listing what youd like to see for the candidates of the "best motor for expedition list" and a list of replacement parts likely for to need replacement across the group of powertrain. In this sort of Format to keep it streamlined:

Motor selection : _______ gas/diesel motor

Parts to be sourced in other locations: water pump, alternator, fuel filter ETC.

(And then any feedback about your parts experiences)

And then we can narrow down a list of motors and associated parts, for anyone to volunteer to try and locate at their parts dealer.
Maybe we can find the " best motors for overland " and be done with the discussion...

So... Who wants to make a nomination???
Once we have enough I'll add a poll.

Great thread. I'd like to know too as I'm heading down there. I'll be 22re powered however but this is good knowledge to have.
