Best fj62 Tall skinny cascade snow & rain tire on 16?

I've been running 235 75 15 Bridgestone dueller revo 2 on stock chrome wheels for years. They have been pretty functional.

Stepping up to 16inch wheel (taco steel with spacer) and looking at various 85 sidewall options to go a bit taller.

Rain and snow traction most critical (Seattle based & regularly in cascade snow). Trail access durability and traction more important than all-out mud or sand traction. Gas mileage and tire price a factor.

I've seen the strong recent reviews for Goodyear duratrac. Others under consideration,
Toyo at2. 215 85 16
General grabber 235 85 16
Cooper at3 235 85 16

I've also read a bit about the hankooks. I would consider the bfg at, but seems mixed comments on snow traction.

I'm very happy with them. They're winter rated, have an aggressive tread, and clean out pretty well. There was only one icy morning here this year and the tires did very well.

Only regret is not going up a size to 235's.

I would look at the 255-85-16 toyo at2 and even the toyo mts they should come in about 33.5 in tall

Thanks for the inputs. I did go duratrac - the severe snow rating and strong wet reviews on tirerack made a difference. used the end of the rebate period. Called around and tire rack had the best price $165 per.

picture of combo, question on psi & spacers

Again, thanks for inputs. Here is a photo of the GY Duratrac 235 85R16 on Tacoma 16inch wheels.

Tires say 80psi and trucks says way below (like 26psi) - I'm thinking I'll start them at 40psi to see how they run. does anyone have experience with this size duratrac on a 60/62? recommended pressure?

I will need wheel spacers on the front - probably 1.5inch, possibly 1.25. If I don't have any rubbing, is there a downside to not having spacers on the rear tires?

80 psi seems like a pressure suited for a Load Range E or higher. What does the sidewall say?
If they are E rated, is your rig empty with stock bumpers or loaded with add on's and bumpers? This might help determine a better pressure to run.

dan -Thx. Yes GY Duratracs say max 80 PSI / E rated on sidewall.

I usually run the truck pretty light - some tools, roof rack and arb front beyond stock.

The MOST air pressure you would need to run for daily operations is 45psi, I would stay at 40psi
