Like the title says. I was/am being told i need to use an HEI/DUI dizzy for my Howell fuel injection set up for a better, hotter spark. Alot of people on here don't care for them over stock, so is this the only option ? Thanks in advance, Mike.

You are installing this on a 2F, correct?
The computer controls the spark curve, correct?
If this is the case, you should be able to use a FJ62 (3FE) distributor, since that is the ‘crank sensor’ for the Toyota EFI, and does not have any advance or retard system in it.
I have a Howell system on order and can give you some feed back in a week or so... the HEI will be choice in this conversion.....
these have been working out very well.... the guy has put a lot of effort and research into his product.........Which HEI are you using ?
zornff, I know Jim Sickles from Downey was working with the Howell kits for quite a while. I think he ended up getting castings made to build his own custom dizzies for the FI kit. IIRC, they were based off of an S-10 V-6 application. I'm not sure, but I THINK I remember the reason for the custom castings was to get all the GM HEI electronics to fit into a housing small enough not to interfere with the side cover.
If you've got half an hour to spare, you could always call him yourself!;p

1/2 an hour my foot. Great guy but a TAD long winded, we went an hour. I now realize that i should use his FI kit instead of Howell
as it sounds very incomplete compared to his and not as specific.
