I went with the BDS lift based on price, and have been very happy with it. Provides a fairly smooth ride on road, and great performance off road. For about $900, it seemed to be a very complete kit, unlike others I have invested in on other makes...

I went with the Habu lift that Man a fre has. I see they have raised there prices. They were sold out last month. I paid something like 110 a spring. I have had it installed since last summer and I am super happy with it. With 1.5" shackles it raised it 4" in rear and 3.5 in front.

I've often had the BDS lift recommended to me as a less expensive lift. OME Dakkar really is the "cheap" lift of the moment though.

where did you get it?

If the quality of the Dakar suspension is as good as the regular OME (and I have heard that it is...) then I would go with the Dakar. My OME stuff has worked out well for me.

I got the Habu kit, and it suits me just fine. Would have gone with dakar but had some other junk to spend money on also, so it was what I could afford. Used OME shocks and shackles.

Dakar....Dakar...Dakar...Dakar... let that be your mantra.

I have the HABU lift from Man-a-Fre and i am very happy with it

i've got BDS and i think it was just over a thousand (but i bought shackles and greasable pins too). Could not ask for better. And they have a no questions asked lifetime guarantee (i think).

Arent Dakar and Habu both coming from the Malaysian company Beltons?

I have installed Habu springs on my two FJ60's and am very happy with them. Replaced OME med-heavy springs which I found were too soft and allowed too much body roll and required a rear stablizer. I then upgraded the OME springs to their heavy configuration and found them to be too harsh and stiff. THe Habu's give more lift, no body roll (and no stablizer required), yet while firm they offer a decent ride quality. They are much cheaper than the OME and in my opinion are a better buy.
