I think that Onur will do very well on his own, he has a tremendous customer base. I was upset when he recently dropped off from Nalley.

If you do not use Onur as your parts source, start. I call or E-mail him and I have parts via USPS the next day. He knows the parts he is selling, not the far away stares you get at your local Toyota parts counter when you say 1988 FJ62. Help support a new business that keeps our LCs on the road.

Just curious, now since he is on his own is he able to do better than 25% off MSRP now? I certainly realize people on MUD are loyal Beno and for good reason. I have been using a different dealer for the past 10-15 years that's on TN and Yotatech that offers a bigger discount. I would certainly go with Beno if discounts were close. Really wish I could find a Lexus hook up, I need to find one big time.

Discount stays the same. :)

That said, if you want a deep discount and that is your only purpose for shopping, then I probably won't be your source of parts.

I am interested in developing relationships with my clients and customers. I get you exactly what you need to do any job correctly on any series Toyota Land Cruiser or any Toyota vehicle.

I want to return to an older, more robust and durable business model where people want expertise and a decent price and want a relationship with the person that provides them with goods for their hobbies/lifestyles. :)

Price-wise, I will be close most of the time. But not all of the time.

I look forward to continue supporting ONSC in the future.

Was only asking because I was not sure if the dealership you were previously working for determined the discount %. I can certainly understand and appreciate your business model. Just for the record, I am not a "deep discount" shopper. I have been extremely happy with the level of service I receive from the parts manager I have been using for the past decade plus. I was just curious, because if it was apples to apples I would switch to support a fellow MUD member. I am the sole provider for a family of four, so unfortunately that means I have to spend my $$ wisely. Best of luck in your new business venture.

James drives a Lexus. Finding a good parts guy who can get it right the first time can be hard. He's lucky to have found that in a local source.

My understanding is that there hasn't been sharing between TOY and LEX parts databases which has put a damper on TOY guys providing parts for LEX. Maybe I'm wrong? I know some parts share depending on the vehicle system.

Either way, Beno is always worth a call. I'm sure he'll be happy to let you know right away if he can't handle something. Sorry, I meant to say that he'll tell you way more than you wanted to know about your question, which will give you the info you need to tell your LEX guy, then he'll tell you if he can't handle it. Suffice it to say that you'll still walk away happy and with more knowledge that you needed.

Shameless plug: Beno will get you ALL the tiny parts you don't know you need to complete a job (gaskets, washers, clamps, etc). At least he always has for me.

@beno , any chance for a MudShip to GSMTR? I need some small gaskets and some red radiator fluid...

Edit: I ask publicly in case someone else needs something next week. :) By the way, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I don't shop on price, I'd rather support a small business that knows the product and can advise me (I freely admit I don't know much of anything). @beno since the Lexus GX470 has much in common w/ 4R/FJC, I assume you can source most common parts - will you also be able to source Lexus-specific parts?

Do you have the ability to cross-reference to see if there is a Toyota equivalent to Lexus? For example, the rear "pintle hitch" of the 4th gen 4R is the same as the one on the GX, but is 2/3 the price.

I have been jonesing for a good source for GX parts, Beno if you can do this you'll have a Customer next time - and every time - I need anything.

And congratulations on starting this business - definitely see a need for it, and someone with your experience and integrity will ensure it's successful and rewarding.

Good to know - is there a website/e-mail/PM process that I should go through?

Onur is the man. So glad to hear everything is working itself out and look forward to working with you going forward. I got in a bind for parts a while back and gave him a call out of the blue. The level of expertise and professionalism is second to none. If anyone has never have the pleasure of working with Onur, I would highly recommend it. Top shelf my friend.

Drop a line with your needs Joe and let me see what I can do for you.

I do the best I can to cross-reference a lot of things.

I think its important to remember that there is a price to pay for exceptional and personalized service. I know I'm not speaking for all, frankly I'm just speaking for me, but looking for the biggest discount usually comes with something else being shorted.

I've had a fantastic experience over the last 2 years with Onur and feel at times, the additional service and expertise I get is worth much more than the "MUD" Discount.

Just this morning I wanted to pay for a very expensive part I "Thought" I needed... Onur gave several suggestions on ways to remedy the situation that didn't involve me sending over $300.. This from a guy starting out on his own who probably needs to move as many parts as he can. Instead he provided exceptional service and didn't take my money.

That my friends, I would pay a premium for.

Best,

Ripper-
