I haven't been around the club that long but Forrest was always fun to talk to when I had the chance. My favorite memory with him was when he opted to ride shotgun with me in my 60 on a long GSMTR day in 2022 or 2023 when his 73 was acting up and we just had hours and hours to chat and get to know one another and share stories. He will be missed.
There's not much more that I can say about Eric that hasn't already been said. He was a good friend to many of us, and if he counted you as a friend, he'd do anything for you. He was a character for sure, and if Eric was around, there was always an element of mayhem to contend with. He was an adventurous soul. He was always up for a camping trip, and most of the time we camped, there was some story the next day about something crazy Eric did the night before around the campfire. When memories were being made, Eric was there. Farewell Eric Forrest. Rest in peace, brother.

I’ve greatly enjoyed reading through the posts in this thread and am grateful for all the smiles they’ve put on my face. The photos and stories have helped me recall a lot moments shared with Eric and this club over the last 15+ years.
I’m grateful that our paths crossed, thanks to a mutual affinity for these old trucks, and for his years of friendship.
In a recent text exchange with his sister, she wrote: “You guys are the best. Your group of friends is very special. Eric loved you all. I think he was happiest when he was with y’all.”
I hope to follow his example, by attending more club events, spending more weekends on “adventures”, and paying it forward.
Here are a few pics from a thread when we gathered during COVID to celebrate Eric's 50th birthday. The third one is one of my favorites, and what I've used on my phone for years.
Like FJinTegaCay, i have enjoyed all the photos and the memories everyone has of times with Eric. I mainly only saw Eric when we meet at the barn and the events in the UREs. I love hearing stories and pics of Eric’s adventures with Upstate and beach trips and GMSTR and Hurricane Creek. All the places I have not been and missed my chance to do with Eric.
He was usually the first one to the barn events but not exactly the last to leave. He liked to stand around and watch anyone that was cooking or Angerhater stoking the fire. But he always had somewhere to be on Sundays after breakfast so he got out of all the fun clean up.
I do remember the first time we met was at a Hamom for Johnny, I think, at Mike Angstright in Southern Pines. We worked on several trucks that weekend, including Eric’s, and that was an epic weekend for Me and Lydia. Mike was great host even though he didn’t appreciate Johnny and I doing a late night trail ride around the property.
I have been looking for pictures with Eric but I have found most of Eric at the barn. I hope to find others but here is what I have for now. What I noticed is that most are only Eric and Jamesurq together.
RIP Eric. You were a great friend and will missed around the campfire.
