Thinking about this one. Definitely want grey leather but dont know if i should hold out for the newer engine.

I tried to read the ad at work, but was pulled into the bosses office halfway through for yelling out the description.

I caved in myself. I figure if I ever do really want to replace the factory ML system I will just work around it somehow. I did see a post somewhere, I have been unable to find it again and didn't bookmark it, where someone bought an adapter off of eBay and mounted it inside the cassette player. That is something I have been thinking about trying since I don't own cassettes and wouldn't mind adding the ability to stream via Bluetooth. The problem is that I can't find that post, and most of the interfaces I am finding online seem like they are much too large to be mounted in the same place.

$20 simple fix that works just fine, but you have to make sure to keep it charged. not too great on long road trips, but good around town.

that said, my '08 does have an OEM AUX jack next to the heated seat controls. works fine for longer drives. i don't mess with it on my short 10 min drive to work though.

i did install a VAIS system in my wife's 100 that auto syncs with itunes playlist when you turn on the ignition (bonus it overrides the annoying "i agree" button on the older nav)

i'm going to go with the Grom V-line on mine though b/c of google maps

This may solve your 'don't want to mess with it for 10 minutes' problem:

If your phone automatically plays music once it detects a previously configured Bluetooth connection, it could be entirely seamless for you.

I found an amazing deal on an 04 GX470 that has the nav and bought it anyway. There are some cool solutions out there but I bought a Motorola Roadster 2 and I really like it. It clips on the visor and has a speaker or can be set to broadcast in FM. The speaker works really well for calls and the microphone is pretty amazing at canceling out road noise. The FM broadcast feature is great if you want to stream music. I had originally bought it as a stopgap until I got one of these cooler integrated units and then never upgraded. I have found that I like that it is independent of the sound system so it doesn't stop the music or nav or whatever else the car is doing; I can turn the music down if I like or just leave it playing. I also like that if I arrive at my destination and am still on the phone but don't want to leave the car idling it works independent of the car so I can sit in it and finish my conversation.
It is not as sleek and integrated like some of the other options but does everything I need and I can just unclip it and move it to my 80 or my older car whenever I want. They run about $50 and clip on the visor so you are not out too much and there is no install.
