See if metal tech can skip some into a container...that's how I got mine

Interesting. I'd have to figure out if the Prado 150 skids will work, since that's the version that has KDSS I believe.

Saw a guy on t4r that used 5th gen skids on the GX- "For the record, to make 5th gen skids fit, you have to drill 4 holes, buy 2 3" long bolts, 2 2" spacers and 2 1' spacers. everything else fits like it should."

Not sure if this helps you because Im not too familiar with the KDSS systems on ours or the 5th gen but though it was worth throwing out there

Finished off the plastic cutting with some door trim molding....

I want to see the finished product

Not sure when I'll have some time to bring it to a tube bender. Thinking of just getting my own bender, but I wouldn't have much use for it, beyond the couple of small things I need. Hopefully soon though. Still need to add shackles to my hidden winch brackets also.

How did you determine your cut line on front and back?

How did you determine your cut line on front and back?

On the front, I measured up to my winch plate behind the bumper, then subtracted a half inch. It was right around half an inch below the crease in the fascia. Just followed that line around.

On the rear, I just cut it just above the line above the reflectors.

Where did you get the hitch? Did you make it?

Online Toyota dealer. It's the OEM hitch that came on the 2003 model, before they replaced it with the frame hitch to bump the tow rating. This one is rated for 5000 lbs, which is more than I'll ever pull with it.

I removed the frame mount hitch I had, and will probably cut it up to use the mounting plates to build my tube bumper.

Tested the sliders out today - and the rest of the upgrades (didn't need the winch yet). Overall, it did pretty good in moderate rocks. The gas tank is the Achilles heel I think. The tank skid got a bigger workout than the sliders. Only option to get a little more clearance is to go with some 35's. So that'll be the next project.

Re-located my windshield washer bottle, using a universal coolant tank...

So that I could fit these.....

@madtoy how much lift are you running? Still running the 5100s with 2.5" Toytec springs? I am curious how much lift you actually netted. I went with the 285/70s and was considering the 305s I love the way that looks! Looks great. Keep up the good build.

Still the same lift. I had to move the Bilsteins up to the 1.75 notch. This got me right at around 3" of lift. Maybe a tad more.

Hmmm...The bottle relo is nice. I already cracked my OEM. Now details!

It was pretty easy. Hardest part was getting the stock bottle out (only because I didn't know where all the bolts holding it on were).

But just buy this from Amazon, for 8 bucks shipped if you have prime. Use a 1 3/8" hole saw, or wood drill, and drill out the two holes for the pumps. I did one on the front side, and one on the side toward the front of the vehicle. I did this so that I wouldn't have to cut the tape on the wiring harness to get the washer connector to reach. It just makes it in this position.

You also need to put a generous amount of clear RTV around the grommets, since the coolant bottle is thinner than the stock washer bottle, and the grommets don't fit perfectly. There's a small hose pipe on the bottom also - but you just fill that with RTV to plug it. I left out the low fluid indicator, since with it unplugged, it doesn't show up on the dash. Obviously, not nearly as much capacity - but good enough to last a good bit, and easy enough to refill when needed. I did the same on my Jeep, using the same bottle, so works well.

Some fun at Potts Mountain this weekend...

So when are you installing lockers? ;)

Were you aired down at all? The tires didn't appear to deform or grab much.
