I was placing my wires back on the battery and the fusible wire from the starter burnt through. I replaced the fusible link and the cable sparks like sparklers when I place the ground on the battery. Positive cable is connected to the battery. I narrowed it down that if I keep the White Blue wire off the alternator no spark. Once I attach it back to the alternator I get fireworks and blown fusible link. Could it be a grounding issue at the alternator? Any suggestions

I melted my harness by connecting the battery backwards... You sure you aren't doing the same?

The fusible link is supposed to melt BEFORE your harness is ruined... Mine melted, but AFTER the harness.

The fusible link goes between the battery positive and the white-blue pigtail in the main harness, on the passenger fender... You can see it here, between the two white terminals... Ignore the rats nest of wire, I'm in the middle of cleaning it all up.

The positive battery cable should connect to the lug in the starter... The negative battery cable should connect to the frame behind the passenger wheel (front).

I suspect you are energizing the frame, by connecting the positive battery cable to the frame... but, I've been wrong several times already today.
