I'll preface this comment by saying this year's Wake team is one of the worst in school history and may give a sincere challenge to the worst ACC team ever. I'll be absolutely flabbergasted if we don't finish the season 0-16 in league play...

Anyhoo, because it likely ranks up there with the most futile endeavor in sports, I figured you Clemson and UNC guys would have some heated banter going about tonight's game.

Richard's post is much too genteel and Marshall's lack of confidence for his mightly heels in the nose dome is unexpected. I'd guess the Clemson contingent is pretty excited about ending the longest losing streak in sports tonight and I'd say they have a pretty good shot.

I'll be in the air heading to the west coast so I won't get to see any of it unfortunately but if it is anything like the 2008 game (with the ending possibly going the other way this time) it should be a heckuva game.

I'm going to record it then find out what the score was then watch it if we won. Just like any fan who has a s***ty team that should be good. For a second there I thought I we would get into the big dance. Don't see that happening now.

Still nothing beats the last Clemson game we went to see. Epic.

Want to see one hell of a comeback go to abot the 6 minute mark and watch the last 3 minutes of the game. Clemson up by 11 with 3 min to go.

Wow. 0-55. Hard to believe. I think the streak started in 1926.

Will anyone alive today live long enough to see the streak broken?
:grinpimp:

I don't know, if they couldn't do it this year I don't know when another chance as good as this will come around. Smith sitting most of the game hurt though, we played a walk on about 15-20 minutes last night, zero depth for the Tigers this year.

I think Clemson will beat the streak in our time. Had they played UNC last year at home it would have been an easy win. We just got lucky.

Clemson dropped by 1 at Maryland, tough one but they gave up a lot of bad buckets early and probably deserved to lose. They have definitely shown some improvement though.

SEC and ACC suck this year. Between the two 5 in the top 25, and 3 from the SEC...

At least there is Duke :smokin:

Definitely a down year for the ACC but the SEC always sucks so no surprise there.

Really crushed a ranked team, that hs got to help a little bit, not sure FSU deserves any rankings though.

I'm glad to see Duke is beatable and the FSU thing wasn't a fluke.

Did anyone watch the OSU game against Northwestern? They should have lost that game. It was a crazy weekend in college basketball.

ACC and SEC basketball is so bad this year I was surprised to see this thread even alive.
Clemson/Virginia was so embarrassing but I was surprised to see the Tigers pull up their socks in the GT game.
I'd almost rather have a bad team than a streaky one.
But the ACC road jinx is broken at least. Now maybe they can start living up to their potential before it's too late.

Nothing much to say for USC unfortunately.

UVA loss was a bad one for sure, not sure what potential you are talking about though. We were picked to finish near the bottom of the league. We lost 3 scholarship players to transfer, put 2 walkons on scholarship so we didn't waste the scholarships, and recruited a football player just so we had enough guys to have full scrimmages in practice. We have a walkon playing about 10-15 minutes every game and contributing. Frankly what Brownell is doing should be heavily considered for ACC coach of the year honors, I'm not sure anyone else could be getting this type of play out of the same squad. Good chance he is gonna get us to 20+ wins and finish in the top 1/2 of the ACC which really would be an extremely good performance I think.

Now people are talking about BB as ACC CofY and CU maybe getting a ticket to the dance. Moments of good play are turning into halves and last night most of the game.
I'm seeing real possibilities for Saturday even. Call me Pollyanna but I am amazed at what they've been doing. Could we let Drew play one more game please?

But tonight: moRoyn vs the Rat.
One of those games you wish they could BOTH lose.

How about those Heels last night? Rocked it out to a 14 point lead over Duke in the first half and then completely bombed the second half and lost the game.

Still I think the heels look very good considering they have so many newbies.

Yeah they are going to crush CU. It will probably cause the CU coach to quit and coach another team into the top ten consistently.

Keep dreaming, this is gonna be a barn burner or a Clemson blowout, no way UNC runs away with it in Littlejohn.
