LOL, Wake ends the regular season by knocking off the 1st place team in the conference and keeping UVA from locking up the regular season title.

Solid win on senior day for our seniors - both of them. :D

No senior day next year...

Wake put a little run together here at the end of the season should have played that way all yr. Clemson plays VT tomorrow, its probably a must win to keep the big dance in the picture.

yeah...unless we win the acc tourny or at least get to the finals, i think that the big dance for us = n.i.t.

Yeah, Clemson kept a glimmer of hope alive to get to the big dance with the win in the 'Burg. Prolly still need a few wins in Tampa to make it a sure thing.

Love tap...

That was pretty nasty. I was at a UNC bar and the place obviously went nuts when that happened.

While I don't think it was intentional, it was an unfortunate occurrence.

The worst part of the whole thing was Kazooooooooskichefski's comment in his post game presser. His point was that Hansbrough had no business in the game at that point and since he was, these things sometimes happen. WTF?

While I dislike both teams, it has been nice seeing UNC even the score with respect to the recent imbalance in this series.

Although I am sure many will disagree (cue Richard / David), this is still the best rivalry in sports!

Best rivalry in basketball sure, best rivalry in NC sure best rivalry across all sports NO. There are substantially better rivalries in several sports how bout Yankees v Red Sox just one example. I will not sit here and argue why Clemson v USC in football is a better more meaningful to the state rivalry then Duke v UNC is in NC but it is. But its definitely high up there and I always watch. I dont think the elbow was intentional and I dont think you should get a 1 game suspension for somethin unintentional.

I didn't expect an argument, just good natured ribbing. :D

You're right in a lot of ways. It's more about where you live / where you're from / what sports you follow, etc.

Since I've lived in NC almost all of my life and grew up in a Duke family, Duke vs. UNC hoops was / is the biggest there is. Funny enough, I had no idea how big the USC / CU rivalry was until I married a girl from SC whose father went to Wake undergrad and USC law school and whose sister went the CU undergrad. During that game on that weekend, the normal seating at church changed, normally friendly neighbors acted differently, families fought constantly, etc. Growing up only 1 state away my whole life, I knew that it was a big deal, but had NO idea how big it was...

Yeah its a world of difference if you lived just 1 or 2 hundred miles different.

Good job Luke, I noticed hes been starting for a couple weeks now as well. Hes the future of the program right now.

Well Clemson will be heading to the NIT I suppose. Todays game ended on a freethrow the foul call was the worst call Ive seen since that Duke clock fiasco. Thornton's foot slipped and he fell down and somehow one of the two players standing up not touching him in any way got a foul. :flipoff2: ACC refs

That was a horrible call and a bad way to end the game but Clemson certainly contributed to coming up on the losing side.

The moral of the story is, "don't get a backcourt violation" in the last 30 seconds and a chance to take the lead in an ACC Tournament game that you possibly need to win to go the NCAA Tournament...

Mercifully this basketball season is OVER for the Gamecocks.
Richard, remember what I told ya when CU was 17-0 ? :grinpimp:
I hope ya'll win the NIT. It isn't the Big Dance but ya'll can still
make us proud by getting to Madison Square Garden. Go Tigers.

If Clemson is relegated to the NIT (ala Davey Odom invitational), they have to be a favorite to win it all, especially if KC regains his early season form and plays like he did in the W against VT last weekend.

It will be strange to not see Mr. Davey Odom himself in his tournament this year, especially after winning the last 2 in a row...
