finally got around to the "baseline" work...replaced oil sender switch and heater hoses and T's. After removing the engine shroud, lots of dried red coolant visible around the hoses at the firewall. That, and the fact that one of the Ts had partially disintegrated, so it was (past) time to get on this. Hope that plastic went somewhere good, it wasn't inside the hose.
The only hitch in the job was due to the fact I wasn't paying attention - out of 12 clamps I reused, there are two smaller dia clamps, took a bit of time to figure out (then again, I managed to turn what should have been a two-hour Gamiviti rack install into 4.5 hours). All good now. I feel competent enough to go after the AHC fluid next, fingers crossed.
