I need a spare FJ40 housing to replace my destroyed one. Preferably somewhere near Atlanta or anywhere along 575/515. I know this should be in Wanted, but since I'm only looking locally...

Let me know whatcha got and how much you want.

Bailey

Sure, just a bare fj40 housing. No third member, no knuckle parts, just the housing.

I've broken a few too many longfields in my current housing and the area where the inner axle seal rides is destroyed. Time to build a new axle.

PM Lingo. He had one. As did Hilery - Huston53.
And I have one that is bent on the short side about 1/4 inch up. Sand blasted and POR15ed. If you want to try and straighten it, you can have it but you have to drive to Rome to get it.

My inner knuckles look like a grenade went off in there but my Marlin seals are firmly seated, I think ..... Well, I ain't got any diff oil leakin in the knuckle yet..... If you keep breaking birfs why would you want to go back to the same po$$ibility of more carnage? If my 30 spline Longs let go, no doubt about a D60 front swap :bounce:

I was breaking the old longfields, prior to the 27/30 spline chromoly ones, and broke a couple of them in situations where I had to drive for some distance before I could get the fragments out, hence the chewed up seal seats. I don't think I will have much problem with the new chromoly ones.

Simply can't afford the D60 right now. College budget = cheapest route possible. Staying with the toy setup for now will only cost a few hundred $, and will take only a day or so of work to be back in wheeling shape.

Gotcha. I thought you were :nuke: ing the new 30 spliners.

 you been to Bobby's site yet & checked the price$ ? Since you drive a lot to the trails, you'll prolly want the hub gear$ too. I run the 4340 flanges, so my R & P is the weak link

You could do a hybrid LC center/ D60 outer front :bounce: That's waht I'm doing on my 55 right now.

Only a few hundred because I'm reusing everything off my old axle (27 spline chromoly Long's and inners, locked diff, disk knuckles, etc.

I'm helping two of my wheeling buddies build a pair of D60's / 14bolts for their rigs, and I'm seeing firsthand how expensive it gets.

I'd like to check out the hybrid axle, where's your shop?

Yeah, 60's get expen$ive & heavy, that's why I'm staying away from the 60 housing, mostly due to weight & ground clearance, since I'll be running 37" SSR's. If you wanna check it out online, I have a build thread in my sig. Or, if you'd like to come by my small space in garage, PM me for directions.

Bailey,

We have 2 FJ55 Ft housings however both are underneah trucks at the moment. If you arent in a hurry you are welcome to one of those.

Do you need a front or rear axle housing? I have one of each and will let them go for $80 each if you want. They have been sandblasted adn painted.
Let me know if you want one.

Shizzznick! There is a deal!

Yea, need to get rid of them and don't want to take them to the scrap yard.

Know anyone who needs the housings?

Thanks for the responses. Mike C is hooking me up.

Hilery- that is a deal, thanks for the offer, Mike could drop it off at my house, and I wouldn't be able to make the hike to ya'lls shop for a while.

No prob. I know that patrick is going to Georgia Tech tomorrow (well for the next few weeks) to work on the softball stadium and I"m sure he could have brought it for you.

Any how, just thought I would throw it out there.

thanks
hilery

Say hi to Mike for me.

Damn! Mike just dropped off his housing today.

Thanks anyway. I'll have to walk over there and look for Patrick, I live 2 blocks over from the new softball stadium.

Hopefully he will be there sometime this week or next. Their still waiting on the ok to install a few things, but when they get there they'll be there for 2 or 3 weeks.
