Too far north. Too far east.
After a false start, Mike and I made it down to the peninsula for 9 nights. We had mostly great weather with days in the 80's, and nights in the high 60's or low 70's. Three of the days were windy, two of them crazy windy. One evening was cloudy and we had a brief sprinkle.

Last April I went to a new-to-me beach at Bahia San Rafael. Mike and I tried to get there, but the trail had seen significant weather this summer. I think we could have done it, but it would have been a very long day. Last April the access road had been graded for semi-truck traffic to the beach. This time, it was not Subaru friendly. This kept out the riff-raff, except for two fellas on an ATV, and a side-by-side, who went down the beach next to our camp. No idea what they were up to.

Wow, TWO solar panel systems?

Three. I have a 40W and a 20W. Mike had a 100W.

Awesome pics as always - I loved the different shots of the moon. Glad that you made it down and back OK.

Solar panels are great - I have a Renogy 100W "suitcase system" that we use with our travel trailer, and I'm amazed how quickly it will charge two deep cycle batteries. We're lucky we've got that NM sun available most days.

I have the same one as Evan. fast charging, but large. glad you guys got it done finally. Looks awesome as always.

Thank you for sharing your great pics! What a super place
Glad you had an uneventful trip, and no hi-jinx from the riffraff

Mike and I went back to the beach where I had the issues last spring. In April the road had been graded to allow access to a semi-flatbed truck. This trip the summer storms took care of that. While it wasn't "blown out," it was not Subaru friendly. We had two guys make an appearance on our beach the first evening. They were riding an ATV (quad) with an ice chest, and a side-by-side (Polaris?) towing a trailer with several gas cans. They went up the beach to the east, turned around, and we never saw them again.

I think that was the same suitcase panel that Mike bought. I was impressed. Mike was having a problem charging last October, but it turns out it might have been a battery issue. He switched batteries and didn't have any issues ... well one. We stopped in Flagstaff for gas, and when he tried to start the truck the engine would not turn over. I reached under the hood and pulled the cable off the battery. He tightened it down and we were on our way.

I'm jealous and glad your 4runner survived.
4Runner did great, except for the exhaust leaks. I only had one issue that did not repeat. It appears my starter contacts might have an issue. I'm going to retighten the head bolts this weekend.

I've been thinking about getting a solar panel for charging my pop-up battery during the day so I have enough juice to run lights and a heater when the sun's not up. These are good recommendations for this unit.

sweet man, glad you made it down and had a great time!
