I drained my transfer case and it have very much oil in it maybe close to a quart. What are chances the seal hit the transmission and the transfer case is bad? I have not had a chance to remove the fill plug for the transmission to see if it's over filled. My landcruiser has been sitting for around 30 years and has only 80,000 original miles.

Be prepared for a quart or more of oil potentially come gushing out when you remove the transmission plug. Ask me how I learned. BEst to put a oil pan under it and expect to go a long ways (further than you expect) past the plug. Put the one edge directly under the plug and the rest of the pan should catch the oil at the beginning. Worse case syneireo.

While under the rig use a piece of romex wire at least 18" long. Using the romex mark the center of the fill plugs on both transfer case and transmission. The romex will bend like the hose and be easier to measure. Then lay flat and measure the marks. Should be either 17.5" or 12.75". I have both sizes in stock. The hoses are a band aide. The true fix is replace the seals. This bandaide also gives you a little time before you replace the seals without over filling transmission and forcing oil out the front seal of transmission. Oil coming out the front seal of the transmission may crystalize the clutch plate lining. If it crustalizes it's hardness now will damage the pressure plate. Just my observations owning an FJ40 since 1976. I'm sure others will make an argument on some of the above? too bad if they do these are my observations and the problems I've experienced.

has the rig moved at all in 30 years?
my suggestion would be to remove the side PTO cover plate and look at the gears inside the transfer
there is a chance that the gears above the oil level are rusty, I found this on a rig many years ago

I wouldn't be surprised if the gears have rust on them. The transfer case was locked up until we pulled it out of a barn with a tractor. By locked I mean you couldn't move the gear shift for the transfer case

Usually when the seal goes bad between the trans and tcase, the tcase pumps gear lube into the trans, thats why @shipmag makes his hose kit. Check the trans and see if it's over filled. After Sitting for 30 yrs all bets are off. Top things off and check each periodically.
