SoftTopper; so like most these companies they have had the pandemic affect them as well.

Backorder for their material was the first delay; 2nd delay is with utility clamps. They expect the clamps to be in next week.

We will see. From poking around the interwebs; orders for the SB go back to July. I ordered mine Aug 14th.

Im in no rush. Just posting what I've found in delays.

Are you looking to go 285s already? Given the TW consensus that they require a CMC you might want to wait until your factory warranty is closer to being expired.

I stepped up to 265/75r16 when I first brought mine home. Was really torn on going 255/85s or not. I’m not a big fan of the stock TRD OR wheels either, but since I’ve already rock rashed them they’ll stay until I go 17’s.

The SoftTopper is worth the wait, we really like ours. I just wish the rear window could prop up like a hard shell does.

Undecided on wheels and rubber. But MOST likely not 285's. I would most likely go to the 268/75r16 or 17" equiv.

Skid arrived! Seems a decent quality and little heftier than expected.

Apparently I also forgot to tell the :princess: I bought said skid.

She came home to “WTF is that and where does it go”

I simply said it’s for the BMW and not to worry, you won’t notice it once installed.

No more fish bowl :D

Frustrated at work? Go install a skid plate. That will make you feel better :D

I bet that added at least 30 hp.
OH! Just wait until I get the rattle can going!

Seriously though the :princess: wanted it out of her sight since you know it was only just delivered yesterday and we didn't even have the truck then (was at the tint shop). So I had planned on painting it and removing the red TRD, but decided to just slap it on there. Actually doesn't bother me much. The pics online make it to look a lot more like white VS the silver color in comes in and just a little lighter in shade than the skysilver whatever color the truck is.

Giving all the negatives of people saying its aluminum, and weak, and blahblahblah, it's 100% better than the tinfoil stock stuff I took off.

I think it looks great and has much better coverage than TRD skid plate for the 4Runner.

Poser shots while I let it sit in the sun bath a bit for the tint to cure.

Those usually stick pretty good unless you have a manic dog (or a drunk friend) trying to pry it's head out of a partially rolled down window. That's usually restricted to the rear windows though.
